I wanted to support local restaurants today, so we stopped at Granny’s Brier Patch in Greenbrier, Tennessee. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.
There was only one waitress handling eight tables. When we arrived, no one had received their food yet. After a long wait, our meals finally came out, but the bacon was stone-cold—you could literally see the congealed grease clinging to it. It clearly hadn’t been freshly cooked or even warmed up.
I politely mentioned the issue to the waitress. She went to speak with the owner, but he was too engrossed in his phone to bother coming over. On our way out, I walked right past him, and he didn’t even glance up or acknowledge us.
It’s a real shame—this isn’t the way to run a business, especially when a customer has a legitimate complaint. Sadly, this will be our last visit to Granny’s Briar Patch, and I’ll be sharing my experience with friends, family, and online so others know what to expect.

Great place for breakfast! Not many places down south let you get a breakfast sandwich on a croissant but they do and the bacon was sooo good. We also had pancakes which were really good as well. Will definitely go back!

Exactly what you would expect from a small town diner. Staff, food and overall friendliness of patrons is comforting. I go here a lot for morning breakfast and sit at the bar most times and really appreciate the kindness, speed of service and good ole breakfast. Bring the family regularly on weekends and if we play hooky from church we come here for breakfast and we all enjoy the food and service.

Food was ok, staff was ok, atmosphere was ok.
2 of us received our food, then 5 minutes later another one in our party got their food and then 10 minutes later they brought out our last meal. Not sure if they had to go catch and filet the catfish but I can’t understand why it took so long. The rest of us were basically done eating by that time. They then decided they were ready to go and basically made it known they were ready to leave. The turned the juke box off and turned all the chairs over. I would have understood if we were done eating and just chilling but we were waiting on the last person in our party to finish eating the entree that they delivered late.

This was my first time trying this restaurant and I was super disappointed… I got a to go order of open face roast beef and gravy ( which was dry and tasted like dirty dishwater and little a small amount of gravy) mashed potatoes that are ( instant potatoes and taste like I was biting into a stick of butter) and white beans which was decent. With the prices y’all charge, the mashed potatoes should be real potatoes at least. I personally will never eat here again nor recommend to anyone.

Just stopped here for breakfast, as it was the closest spot to our airbnb. Your good ol fashion led small diner. The staff was sweet. The food was full of comfort and came out quick. Lots of options. My only small complaint was that we got French toast and it wasn’t cooked all the way, leaving it very soggy so we just ate the outside part. Other than that it was great and would come here again.
