In the heart of New York, amidst the vibrant fusion of cultures and culinary wonders, Chinta blossomed from a simple yet profound notion. Here, a tight-knit group of friends, bonded by their mutual adoration for Thai cuisine, envisioned bringing a taste of their origins to the bustling streets of the city. They dreamed of a locale where the warmth of Thai hospitality harmonized with the sophistication of New York’s dining panorama. Chinta, translating to comfort and familiarity, materialized from this vision. It pays homage to cherished childhood meals, evoking flavors that linger in memory long after the plates have been cleared. The name ‘Chinta’ symbolizes a pledge—a commitment to offering dishes reminiscent of home.

Authentic Thai food with a twist.
Our waitress was super sweet, oddly there was only one other table in there so she was very attentive.
We shared the Crab Curry Binge, Supreme Pad Thai and Rainbow Roll. The food was delicious. The deconstructed pad Thai was a nice presentation.
Definitely try some of their fancy mock/cocktails.
For appetizers, I tried the Crispy Pork with spicy peanut drippings, and honestly, this is the most authentic Thai crispy pork I’ve had in NYC. The texture is exactly like the ones in Thailand perfectly crispy, flavorful, and very hard to find done this well in the city.
My main dish was the Aromatic Short Ribs, and they were incredibly soft and tender. A really satisfying main course that pairs well with the rest of the menu. I finished my meal with the Thai Tea Cheesecake, which was the perfect sweet ending creamy, fragrant, and full of Thai tea flavor.
I also ordered one of their Thai craft-style cocktails, and I definitely recommend trying them. They match the whole creative and authentic theme of the restaurant.
The place is often busy, but if you come a little early after their break (around 5–7 PM), you can get a great table for dine-in.
I highly recommend this spot and will definitely be back soon.
Ma Muang Mao cocktail was a dessert on its own. So fruity and delicious with a nice foam on top. They were so attentive with the water refills and checking in on us.
The menus were so thoughtful and cute – books filled with Polaroids of the dishes and clean writing. Very well done. The lighting fixtures are great in here too.
Calamari was great!
Khao Soi Gai chicken was so tender and juicy. This dish was a textural jamboree (direct quote from those eating it.) Loved these flavors and I even took some leftover sauce to dump onto my Crab Fried rice. All the portions were pretty big and it was so filling.
Highly recommend this place!
Recommended for anyone who love spicy and Thai Norther Sausage.
Love the vibes and friendly staff : Eve and Nan
Will stopped by more
The black rice in the pot of gold was good, though the prawns didn’t have any flavor at all. Everything else was average.
I’ll give it another go sometime, and order the half duck and definitively see if the places captures me or not after that.
The Tom Kha soup was rich, flavorful, and large enough to share — still generous even when split between two people. The Angry Duck was perfectly balanced: spicy, sweet, and full of flavor. The duck itself was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and came with a good portion of rice.
The rainbow rolls were next-level — super fresh and satisfying, and the chickpea beet sauce they came with was honestly the best thing I’ve ever had with spring rolls. The soft-shell crab was bright, refreshing, and full of texture thanks to the mango and cashew combo(MUST TRY)
Huge portions all around — we shared everything and still felt full. Around $40 per person before tip, which felt like a great value for the quality and quantity.
Also, the staff were all smiles and so kind — our server was wonderful and made the experience even better.
Definitely coming back — one of the best Thai spots around!
