Tyroni’s Pizza Cafe has been serving up authentic Italian food for years. The legacy began when Tyler Barnes started working at a place called Terry’s while he was in college. He wanted to own his own restaurant, and so he worked his way up to a manager and then bought the joint in 1986. With a name change in 1995, Tyroni’s Pizza Cafe was born. For over 30 years Tyroni’s has been serving amazing pizza and authentic Italian dishes to the greater Peoria and Bartonville areas. In addition to its cozy dining room, Tyroni’s offers carry-out and delivery. – two options that can make a meal delicious and convenient!

We had never been here before, stopped in from out of town on our way from the airport. We were delightfully surprised to find this gem of a restaurant. Our server, Jess, was great. The food was amazing! A great mix of pasta, pizza, and salads. We will be back to Tyroni’s whenever we’re in Peoria!

My husband requested pizza for supper so we looked around at all the local places and decided to go with Tyroni’s. It had been at least 20 years since he’s eaten there and I have never had them, so we played it safe and went with a pepperoni pizza and a cherry dessert pizza. The pizza was beautifully cooked, perfect crisp on the bottom, bite on top, cheese and sauce ratio was my ideal. Being not too much sauce with a nice layer of well cooked cheese. Grew up eating NY style pizza, so Midwest style isn’t my fave but I think I have found a new favorite in the area.

Tyroni’s used to be fantastic, but has gone down hill since the last time I was here.
The service was not good, but the server was friendly. It was not busy when I was here, but the service was very slow. I had to ask for utensils, then had to ask for napkins. The utensils used to be rolled in napkins, on the table when you were seated. Not any longer, I guess.
I ordered the Chicken Alfredo, and the Alfredo sauce tasted like garlic mayonnaise. The chicken was good. The dish was served with very little Alfredo sauce, so I had to ask for more. The server brought it and told me he was not adding the extra sauce to the ticket because it didn’t look like enough to him either. Why, then, did he serve it without getting it corrected first?

I literally just took maybe 5 bites out of my salad and noticed a hair. When I spoke to the waitress about it she stated that “oh well everything was cut fresh”. I do not recommend this place and not to mention it took an hour to get my food!

Great food (we had the taco pizza), and great service. We stopped in while on a road trip to stretch our legs and do something different than fast food. It was a great decision. We also had a great time drawing pictures on the table as a family.

Bill for two was around 50.00 which is to be expected now when we go out to lunch. Had their pizza very good. THIN crust. They use excellent quality provolone cheese. Also had their calzone. Sauce is good. Also tried cheese sticks which were not as crispy as we like.. they just needed to have the fryer temp up higher.. and the Italian chicken tenders which is interesting. It’s very very good. But it’s one large piece of chicken cut into pieces. Not what we were expecting but still good and juicy. I would come here again. I love the provolone they use.
