Jack Mason’s Tavern was established in 2009 by Martha Atherholt and Wendy Hudler. They successfully built the Tavern into a spectacular gathering place in Clifton Forge. In 2017, Jack Mason’s Brewery was completed and brewing commenced. The brewery has since been instrumental in creating award winning beers, a seltzer, and non-alcoholic craft sodas to keep our guests excited and ready for new brews! Michael and Ann Foster purchased JMT&B in 2022 and are so grateful to work in an environment where people support each other and show professionalism at every turn. Amazing service and awesome food. Quickly got a table on a Sunday evening headed back to VMI. 5 of us around a huge table with plenty of room for food, drinks, and games. We actually played Yahtzee while eating dinner!
Chili bowls were well liked. I had the sausage and kraut and the wife had chicken. Plus a few desserts like peach cobbler and the hot brownie.
No complaints from anyone and enjoyed the atmosphere and the server ladies with tons of smiles.

I love Jack Mason’s. They actually make their food and dont get it frozen and just heat it. 2 days ago they ran out of BBQ due to demand and didn’t have any until it was cooked for 24 hours. This is just the level of quality you get when you eat here. The service is also exceptional. The woman who answers the phone is always the best. She has a great attitude and goes above and beyond to.provide the best service possible. I would recommend Jack Mason’s to anyone visiting the area. Locals know where to go.

We sat at the bar which was not overcrowded. We ordered the special and started with the chicken and waffles. They were ok, but needed more syrup. Nothing really special. Second course was the Salmon, Couscous and Asparagus. It was all very bland. The bread pudding was ok. Service was nonexistent. The staff were on their phones the entire time and socializing with each other and took forever to fill our drinks and we were literally waiting with our cleaned up plates for the bill. Really disappointed as there aren’t many food options here and we thought this would be a good one.

We came here by chance and happy we did. The food was great. Flavors on point: their beer was decent too as we did a flight. Both of our entrees were good and portions/prices were on point. If we’re ever in the area again we would definitely stop by.

Ok….I’ve been back several times to Jack’s so I gave to up grade my original review. Food is very good, service is great and it’s a very friendly, clean place. I had their Fish and Chips at my last visit…yum.
Nice neighborhood tavern/restaurant in a picturesque mountain town. I would normally give it 5 stars, except for two issues. First off, the Reuben sandwich had sweet sauerkraut, which is just weird. Second, the men’s room didn’t have any soap, no dispenser, no bar soap…no soap. Hopefully the employees use a different bathroom or carry around their own soap.

Great service and great dinner at Jack Mason’s. I had a tasty beer and a great salad.
First, try their Log Hopper Kölsch. It was excellent with just the right hoppy taste.
Second, the Cobb salad was non-traditional but excellent. Only a light base of spring mix and the rest topped with pepper jack cheese and bacon (a lot of bacon!), hard boiled egg, tomatoes, and grilled chicken. Filling and delicious.
Lovely meal and worth returning.

What a great place to grab a fresh in house brewed beer. This place is way bigger than it appears from the outside. 3 unique areas but flowing well between. The general bar area with a dining area, a gaming area and the brewery area. Dollar bills and license plates all over the bar area. Great relaxing place to hang out!

We got the Spicy Tavern Burger and Fish and Chips. This was the second best burger I have ever had in my life. It was spicy but not a burn, just a good heat. No pain but TONS of flavor! I got this with the sweet potato fries with the raspberry dipping sauce. Weird right? It was weird but in a great way. I liked it. The side veggies were to pass out for! So yummy. And they let me try the sauerkraut ( a sweet German true version) it was delicious and it was cool they let try it. Thank you I would highly recommend this place. The service was top notch and worth the stop all on its own. If your female check out the ladies room, you will come out empowered! Great Tavern!
