We walked into this Playa bowls not closing any time soon, and we were rudely dismissed. They told us they didn’t have a juicer??? There is manyyyy juices on the menu?? Do they supply them with juicers? Or NOT!?!!?!! This was outrageous, the service was horrible. I bet if we asked for a playabowl they would claim they didn’t sell them. Listen I work in a coffee shop, do u think I dismiss people when I don’t want to make their drink????? NO! THAT IS RUDE!!!?!? We will neverrrrr go back, this place just lost a local loyal (currently distraught and throughly disappointed) customer!

Update 2/19/2026 (2 months after initial review) I noticed this restaurant has responded to other reviews but hasn’t addressed this one. I’d still appreciate a response, especially regarding guest greeting and staff attentiveness. I have yet to return to this location unfortunately.
I really want to love this smoothie spot because it used to have such a warm, welcoming vibe, but lately it’s been disappointing. Every time I walk in, no one greets me. I usually see an employee on their phone or behind a laptop, standing far from the front of the store, and it just feels uninviting.
On top of that, they stopped playing the surfing/snowboarding videos that have always made the place feel fun and energetic. Now the TV is usually playing movies or tv shows, which takes away from the original vibe that made this spot special.
Overall, it feels like the store has lost its touch and the welcoming atmosphere it used to have. I really hope they bring back the energy and customer service that made it stand out.

This place was a great place to go to! Tons of varieties to get with your açaí bowl. You can even change the base mix from Açaí to coconut to pitaya and more. I mixed mine with coconut and açaí. My wife got the gingerbread bowl which is a seasonal bowl. Both hit the spot!
You get loads of food with each bowl!
The atmosphere is great here. Very cool how it is also combined with a cozy coffee spot. I would definitely recommend coming here.

After all my visits to Belmar, I’m sad I didn’t come here sooner. These are the best playa bowls I’ve ever had! The shop decor was awesome, such an awesome vibe, and you can see the ocean from the doorway or the patio out front. I didn’t get to try any drinks, but the Nutella bowl and the peanut butter bowl were so so good. I actually passed on tacos to try a playa bowl after I saw my friend get one. Highly recommend!

Out of the beach and feeling hungry but don’t want to eat unhealthy oil food to fill your craving then you want to go here. Their bowls, smoothies and Juices are freshly made with real fruits. A huge selection to choose from. Also there is a coffee shop within this location. So if you have someone with who doesn’t want juice but coffee, even then you can go here. The vibe is chill and they have enough sitting space inside and outside. I would strongly recommend going here. They got my thumbs up.

Playa Bowls is great but my experience at this branch by Belmar Beach was not all that great! I ordered online because I knew they would close in an hour. I got a message saying it would be ready for pickup by 6.47. They close at 7pm. I called the store at 7 and they told me they were closed. I had to tell them that not made an online order and I never got a message or email telling me to pick up my ordered. When I walked in both girls looked like they were ready to go home and the owner was ready to go home.. If I hadn’t called them they would have closed shop and gone home.Not even an apology. No one cared that the bowls were made and just sitting there . Two of our bowls were completely melted too. the employees were all ready to go home and wanted to rush out so they never bothered to even message for thr customer to pick up their items. That’s poor customer service!!! Unhappy customer !!

I basically come here everyday before work. I’ve been to a lot of other playa bowls. A lot. But here they make the best ones. It’s always the right amount because I like extra peanut butter and some people really put EXTRA peanut butter. But they don’t overload it. They also smile. The others I’ve been to don’t look to happy to be there. And they leave notes!

I appreciate everything is made fresh to order and I know it could take time due to the fact, I just wish they would be a little more efficent. Love the fact that they have fresh squeezed juices. They make things to your liking. So much variety and choices.
