As soon as I was seated the waitress walked up ask me what I wanted to drink , I told her then bam she was back. Then the waitress ask me what I wanted to eat i told her she was right back with my salad . Let me tell ya something it was like I just got the lettuce out of the garden put it in the bowl. It was right on time . Very good. Then I told her I wanted a steak. Then here she come with the steak it had taste that was crisp ,flavorful out of this world good that cook needs a high five. We had a lovely lunch at The Bistro in Bowling Green. I was especially pleased to see the brunch menu available, as it gave me a great option, steak and eggs, that aligned with my carnivore diet. It was a much better fit for me than the usual steak and fries, and everything was cooked well and served hot. It also came with some breakfast potatoes and onions, that my husband loved.
My husband ordered the breaded chicken sandwich, which he said was fresh, flavorful, and really satisfying. The portion of fries that came with it was huge, definitely generous for a brunch plate and great for sharing.
The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, and service was friendly without being rushed. Overall, it was a great spot for a weekend meal with quality food and a menu that works for a variety of dietary preferences. We’d absolutely return and recommend it to others.

I came across a certified mail envelope just now and it reminded me that I never followed through on writing this review, and I definitely meant to. About 5–6 months ago, I was trying to purchase gift cards for a close friend while living out of state and working with a tight timeline to get everything to her for her birthday. After doing some research, I reached out, and the manager, Melinda, truly went above and beyond to help. She was incredibly accommodating, coordinating with me over a few calls and emails and making sure everything was mailed out quickly. The whole process was smooth, thoughtful, and more personal than I expected. She did not treat it like a transaction. Looking back, it was such a positive experience, and I really appreciated the extra effort. I wanted to make sure I finally shared that here because great service like that deserves to be recognized. Thank you, Melinda!

After searching for a new place to enjoy in Loretto, TN, I found The Bistro. The reviews were good. My husband and I were not disappointed. The restaurant was clean, nice seating, fast friendly service and delicious food. The tea was refreshingly smooth. We will be taking friends. We also noticed a wonderful breakfast menu that we are going to try early.

5 star update
Absolutely fantastic brunch.

Recent visit- went for brunch on a Saturday morning. Looks like they did some work to the floors and tables since my last visit..looks great. Brunch menu had several good options. Went with the new age favorite of chicken and waffles. Chicken was thin in comparison to the other restaurants owned by this same group. Waffle was ok, grits were good. Harvest salad was on point.
Previous visit.. new lamps on table look nice. Burger and fries were cooked excellently. Good flavor on the chefs choice.
Some new items on menu! Meal was very good, some temperature issues but tasty. Drinks still great.

Update on review.. had a couple spotty visits from a food choice standpoint but overall still a favorite. Drinks are always good. Wish they would keep blackening seasoning on the menu to better flavor grilled chicken.

One of my favorite restaurants in Bowling Green. Different specials each visit, different desserts each visit, same good service each visit. The rabbit is always a go to but tried the cooks choice burger is always delicious. Get the board for an appetizer that has all kinds of cheeses and meats. A must visit while in BG.

Everything here is fine dining, including the price, except for the STEAK. Not up to par with any restaurant steak… let a alone what they charge for this. Longhorn has a better steak, much better. It’s probably on par with a red lobster steak.
Response to owner response: glad you saw this and took time to respond. But it’s pretty obvious when the food is bad that the chef is to blame. You guys are so bad at steak you’d be better off just taking it off the menu. At $100 per person… there just isn’t room for error. Lost us for life.
