Food was flavorful. The pad Thai was the best dish that our group ordered. The Penang curry was good; it was thickened with something unfamiliar, however. The beef on one of the noodle dishes was tough and hard to eat, but the noodles were delicious. Unfortunately the dinner resulted in prolonged indigestion. I would not go back.

Walking into Amarit Thai and Sushi, you get a relaxed, unpretentious vibe — it doesn’t feel fancy, but it feels honest. They mix Thai classics with sushi and other Pan-Asian favorites, which means you can go with friends who want something different and still be happy with your meal.

The Thai dishes here hit the mark for comfort food. Curries like green or Panang are flavorful and rich without being overwhelmingly spicy, and the noodles (like Pad See Eiw or Drunken Noodles) have a nice balance of savory and sweet. The sushi isn’t just an afterthought either — rolls like the spicy salmon or futomaki pop with fresh fish and clean rice.

Service feels friendly and attentive; staff are approachable and will help if you’re unsure what to order. The atmosphere is casual and laid-back — great for a post-work dinner or a relaxed weekend lunch.

On the flip side, consistency seems to vary a bit depending on the day or dish, and it’s not the most elevated Thai or sushi experience in the city. But for the price and variety, it’s a solid choice if you want good food without fuss.

Overall: not the most upscale spot in Chicago, but tasty, welcoming, and dependable — especially if you want both Thai and sushi without splitting up the group.

This place is a hidden gem. There was no customers inside but the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The lady recommended so many wonderful things, the spicy beef appetizer and authentic Thai beer and her, very strong and tasty, Mai tai. Everything we ordered was delicious. Drinks were amazing. The 4.2 stars don’t do this place justice, seriously. Definetly going to have to come again!

I’m excited every time I come to Amarit and I’m finally writing my review.
Amarit is flavorful! It’s nothing short or delicious. I love Thai food, but coming here is a joy. The atmosphere is standard but the food is dynamite. The service is always good. They’re quick but not so helpful with menu questions. It’s 50/50. Our favorite appi is the shrimp cakes. Oh my goodness I wish I had them all my life. We also always get the thai basil chicken too. It’s basically a chopped chicken packed with flavor, on the spicy side. I love it. Last time I also took one to go. This last visit was my first time trying their sushi. Mam, I was not disappointed! We.ate the Pink Lady & the Spicy Tuna. Each of us found the other the one we enjoyed most. The cocktails are yummy too. The Duck Curry is by far my fave entree. I’d never had Curried duck before.Amarit, and im so glad they serve it! Delicious! Amarit is great for.any occasion. They even have an area where ypu could hold a small get together. It’s a great place and there’s always parking.

I got the pink lady, the viva Chicago, and crab Rangoon. Everything was delicious, I loved the crab Rangoon! So delicious and the salmon and the yellowtail just melts in your mouth.

Really enjoyed our meal here! The menu has a great mix of Thai favorites and sushi options, which makes it perfect for groups who like variety. The dishes were flavorful and fresh — the pad thai was delicious, and the sushi rolls were nicely prepared with good texture and presentation. Portions were generous too.

The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and comfortable. It’s a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner in the South Loop.

This is a great Thai restaurant, and I’m particular about my Thai. While visiting Chicago, my wife and I stumbled upon Amarit and were pleasantly surprised with the selections and overall flavor. The fried mixed vegetables are a must-try! We will be returning on our next weekend getaway to the Chi.

Great Thai restaurant that was a few blocks away from my hotel. I ordered the Crying Tiger dish with a Boba tea for dinner on Saturday night. Excellent food and service.

I stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around Printer’s Row. We weren’t planning on going anywhere for lunch, so this was a spur of the moment decision, and boy was it worth it!

The atmosphere isn’t anything spectacular. Kind of your typical mom and pop place, which is not a bad thing!! Just not a place if you’re trying to get wowed by their decor or anything.

We only ordered two entrees but they were SO flavorful and delicious! I got the Pad See Eiw and my boyfriend got the Panang Curry. If you like Curry chicken, you have to try this. The amount of different flavors and spices you get from this dish is amazing. It has a slight kick to it, so if you also like spicy you’ll love this.

The owners are very sweet people, and so hospitable. Highly recommend this hidden gem if you’re in the area 🙂

(Also, this is definitely a place I would order from for takeout for a hangover cure )
