Good food, service needs to be improved.
The space itself was really nice, and the food was very flavorful and enjoyable.
However, the service needs significant improvement. Despite the restaurant being fairly empty, there was very little attentiveness from the staff. After being seated, cutlery and food were brought out, but no one checked in to ask if we needed anything else. We repeatedly had to try to get someone’s attention, often without eye contact or acknowledgment.
When it came time to pay, we waited a long time for the bill. We had ordered a lot of food and requested multiple takeout boxes but while the boxes were eventually brought out, we weren’t given a bag. We then had to wait again and actively seek out staff to get assistance, even though it was clear we were ready to leave.
Overall, the food was excellent, but the lack of attentiveness and slow service took away from the experience. With better service and guest engagement, this place could be great.

Marhaba restaurant is a beautiful new addition to the eatery scene of Victoria. The owners Mr. Vasa and Mr. Raghu were personally involved with the guests which took our experience to next level. We took our hyderabadi family to the restaurant and it was a challenge for them to please to our taste. They surpassed our expectations in every aspect. The restaurant lay out, appropriately chosen music with the right volume, comfortable seats , carefully and aesthetically designed space with pre designated tables for medium to large groups ( we were a group of 6 with two elderly parents) , cutlery, glass water carafe and weighted cutlery, completes guests experience to a great level. Lastly, I was very happy to notice the subtle spray of tastefully chosen air freshener at the end of our meal which enhanced our experience to many folds. This is definitely a great place to host your guests as it will give a lasting impression..

Marhaba is remarkably good in a city that has lots of choices in Indian food. On the Gorge, it is somewhat off the beaten path, but it’s well worth a visit for its uncommonly tasty offerings. We had dal tadka, chana masala, biryani, pakoras, coconut chicken, and shawarma. The coconut chicken was very good — not too sweet — and the dal and chana were excellent, with a bit of spice. Pakoras were crisp, and vegetable biryani was well prepared. Our only criticism was that the onion biryani included uncooked onions, whereas we are used to fried onions in the dish. The “Arabian” shawarma is very different from Middle Eastern shawarma— more like a sliced sausage over rice (get the garlic mayonnaise it is served with on the side). Overall, a very authentic meal, and quite delicious if a tad salty.

Delicious all you can eat with Chai. Paneer was spectacular.
My daughter asked if she could take pictures so I gave her my phone.
Naan was so good. All of the food was a win. And the fact that the chai came with the all you can eat made this place our new fav place.
My 5yo also gave it 5 stars.

Feels like getting scammed. Ordered take out Goat Kadai, and Hyderabadi Paneer. Was $50 picked up from restaurant, asked the server if this was their usual quantity (since the containers seemed small) for $50, to which – got a snarky response “our customers say, it’s a lot compared to other restaurants”. After coming back home, when unpacked and served on a plate, seemed like all I got was Goat Bones, lots of capsicum and curry but no meat . I even separated the curry from meat pieces (which was only bones) just to find out how much goat meat was there, if it was mixed with curry but only to discover; that maybe Marhaba puts goat in curry like adding gold bits, cause there was none (goat) Hyderabadi paneer was also very bland and under cooked. It’s a newer restaurant on Gorge and wonderful little community, where people appreciate good food. But if the outlook is such where you are looking to scam people, atleast them! Deceitful and Disheartening- not going back!

Their special drinks were also very unique and delicious. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a perfect experience!

We decided to try a new place last week with my EXTREMELY PICKY Indian grandmother. Everything we had was definitely above the average for Indian restaurants in Victoria! It was so good that she wanted to go back!! I believe we have a new favorite restaurant for Indian food here. I have to say when your grandma who’s been cooking these dishes for 60+ years is enjoying it you must be doing something right! The service was great they accommodated all my grandma’s special requests and more. We will definitely be back again!

Located on Gorge Rd in Victoria, Mahraba serves comforting Indian and Arabic dishes, and our weekday dinner did not disappoint.
Highlights included the Aloo Gobi Masala, the Butter Chicken Masala Dosa, their signature Goat Dum Biryani, and the Lamb Kabsa — all rich, flavourful, and beautifully spiced.
For dessert, I tried Gajar Ka Halwa for the first time and loved its warm, rich sweetness.
Comfort food at its finest. Go with friends and be ready to share
