Context, I rate coffee shops for its space and atmosphere for an individual more than anything, and Crescent Hill Coffee is a partner(?) / overflow of Eggs of Frankfort. So at around 10am on a Sunday, it becomes more of a restaurant than a coffee shop so the vibe definitely changes and it becomes louder and for bigger groups, opposed to a place where you can cozy down by yourself to study or read a book, or chat with a friend. That’s why I only gave 4 stars. Definitely just a personal preference, it’s a wise business plan especially in this economy, just not my type of coffee shop.
However, it is a great space with good coffee and delicious pastry. It’s nice and cozy on slower times with lots of real plants and ample seating area (about 7 tables). I had their Cinnamon Bun latte and it was quite good–not too sweet, and you can taste the warm spices. I also had their ham and cheese…thing and the pastry was wonderfully baked, flaky and delicious! The filling was pretty good but the pastry was the star.

The atmosphere can best be described as “cozy”, which is my favorite kind. I ordered an iced dark chocolate latte, and was pleased to find that it was very well-balanced; in particular, they did not drown out the espresso with syrup like some places do. The espresso itself was smooth and mellow; it did not have an aggressive bite. There is a large selection of drinks and foods, and I look forward to coming back to try everything!

I came for coffee and in that regard had an impressive first visit! There are many flavors I would like to try upon my eventual return; although I do not usually dabble in baked goods, the cheese danish might be in my future, as well. As a nice bonus, the staff was approachable and helpful; generally speaking, the venue itself was pleasant.

This place is so cute! Friendly service, good range of drink options, right next to Eggs Over Frankfort. Service was fast, the coffee was delicious. Plenty of space inside if you want to stay awhile. So glad to see a new, local, and adorable coffee shop take this location over since the Heine Bros closed.

One of my friends and I look for a new coffee shop every Sunday. This Sunday I chose Crescent Hill coffee. It had a great selection and a quaint neighborhood atmosphere. We sat outside on the sidewalk. The prices were really reasonable and the drinks were fantastic.

Good coffee, and a neat atmosphere, small cozy place. I think my only complaint is that my capp was a little small; I asked if they did it Italian/traditional espresso drink sizing, IE 6oz for a capp, and the barista said they could do it for there and indicated the cup, which definitely was a 6oz capp cup, but only got about a cortado. Still very smooth of espresso! I don’t blame the barista too much though, I imagine if the shop doesn’t already specialize in traditional sizes that it’s an unusual ask and she was working solo with a number of people entering. Still a neat place.

Absolutely one of the best coffee shops around. Personal and really fantastic coffee so delicious. Wishing they had bigger size cups.

Cashier was unbelievably rude. Came in and was told coffee was done for the day with an attitude that was just nasty…they didn’t close for another hour and a half. Cute place, though.
