The hen house is a cute cozy cafe. The country fried chicken is always on point. 100% would recommend.
However we had a rather negative experience this time.
We got an omelet.
The omelet was rubbery. “Rubbery” in the sense that pressing a fork onto it did no damage. We asked the waitress if we could have it remade a little fluffier.
That question enticed a very -Not my problem- attitude and were met with the explanation of “Thats just how we make our eggs”
Seeing as they did not want to accommodate the request or even try to make a fluffy egg we handed the plate to them and told them it was fine, and offered to pay for it , but that they take it back.
She did come out and ask if we wanted mashed potatos instead to which we declined.
We made our way to the hostess who then explained to us that they dont like taking food back due to the fact that they have to throw it away. However that rubbery omelet still made its way to the trash.
We paid for that rubbery omelet that had no more than a single bite.
To your question ‘what would you like me to do about it?”
We would have liked if you to make an effort , ask a cook if he can make it softer. Apologized that it was rubbery.
The sterness and defensiveness made this breakfast less than enjoyable and overall just sucked.
We didnt want a free mealfree food.
We just wanted a puffy omelet.
Something someone with new dental implants/no teeth can actually chew.
If you have toddler , i recommend you cut that egg up smaller or choose a different meal as it could be a choke risk for them.

Hubby and I hopped in for breakfast recently. Great local spot. While busy, we were seated quickly. Order taken quickly, and food arrived just as fast.
The lemonade is tart with the perfect hint of sweet. Hubby said the coffee was really good.
Hubby did the breakfast burrito with green chilly. He loved the heat of the green chili. I did the breakfast with eggs, sausage links, hash browns, and pancake. There was hot syrup for the pancakes.
The portions are big and took the leftovers home. There is a wide selection, and I love trying the different options.

Five star experience.
Fries cooked perfectly and hot still when I opened the box.
Burger came with sides legitimately on the side lol very nice
Burger was overflowing with mushrooms, but dry… no sort of sauce of any kind.
Still 5
Burger patty was thoroughly cooked and was about medium well, but not dry.
Burger patty is thick.
Overall score: 5

We just ate here and I had the hamburger steak, eggs, hash browns and rye toast. This was THE BEST BREAKFAST I’VE EVER ATE! I’m not exaggerating when I say the eggs were cooked to perfection! The hash browns were golden and delicious. The hamburger steak was seasoned and savory. The prices are very reasonable and affordable. The staff was very friendly and prompt. The establishment was clean and happy. I’m so glad that we decided to eat here this morning and I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

The food was absolutely amazing. Chicken fried steak was one of the best I’ve ever had. Service was beyond terrible. We sat for 20 minutes without any service.

I have my Hen House orders delivered due to being disabled. Once it took well over an hour to get breakfast. Hen House can’t cancel the order. They told me that they were having a hard time finding an Uber drive and that Uber would have to refund my money. I tried – it’s probably easier to find a unicorn! It’s impossible!! The food is cold and eggs and hash browns are all mixed together and toast is cold and soggy. ADDENDUM to the above review: I read Hen House response to my review. Hen House advertises Delivery. As the service provider they need to guarantee that their customers are actually served, including food Delivery. Try Door dash or something else.

Small cafe style dining. Service is friendly, but the food takes a while to come out. The green chili is probably the best reason to come here. The Chili Cheese Fries are good and any egg dish with chili on top makes the taste even better. The pancakes are fresh with good taste. Iced Tea tastes like instant powder tea. Be patient because you won’t be in and out quickly, but it’s a nice place for a family friendly meal that won’t break the budget.

Went in for dinner. I had fried chicken. When it came out, I thought I’d probably be taking some home, but after I got all the breading pulled off, there was little enough meat that I ate it all (leg and thigh). It was tasty. Sides were a dinner salad–it was great!–and green beans that were right- out-of-a-can flavorless. My husband had pork chops and says he wouldn’t be ordering those again. He thought they were undercooked. The two guys we were with had breakfast, and it looked pretty good (and they said it tasted good as well.)

Breakfast was nice. There are a lot of big signs as you come in that aren’t too friendly. Our waitress was very friendly and our food came out hot, fresh and fast. The small breakfast burrito with green chili sauce was very tasty. The eggs and sausage were well prepared.

Delicious food with very generous portions. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. It does get a little noisy since there aren’t any dividing walls between tables. There are not many places anymore that will leave a pot of coffee at your table, but they do it here. That’s old-fashioned service and I like it.
