Only giving 2 stars food wise because the ham/cheese croissant should’ve just been call “croissant with ham and cheese seasoning”. The croissant part was alright but no ham or cheese except a couple sad pieces. The chocolate croissant was better because it had decent filling and the snickerdoodle cookie was also good. Maybe would come again but definitely wouldn’t buy the “ham and cheese” croissant ever again.

I ordered 2 cakes because my kids birthdays are 5 days apart. The 9″ Chocolate lovers was amazing, but the 9″ white chocolate cake with Raspberry buttercream and no filling was all wrong. They did white buttercream with raspberry filling. I was really happy to find a bakery that did different flavored buttercreams and was let down to see my daughter disappointed in her cake.

Honey Bear Bakery is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, the warm, inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home. Then you add the awesome bookstore directly across the sitting area and you have the best oall worlds.…. Coffee, Pastries, Sandwiches, Reading, and more.

Their selection of sandwiches, pastries and baked goods is nothing short of spectacular.

The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready with a smile and a helpful suggestion. It’s clear they take great pride in their work, and it shows in every delicious bite. I highly recommend the cinnamon rolls—they’re out of this world!

Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee or looking to satisfy your sweet tooth with a special treat, Honey Bear Bakery never disappoints. It’s the kind of place you can’t wait to visit again and again.

A small and cozy café inside a bookstore, perfect for a quick bite or just a coffee. It’s convenient and ideal for grabbing a pastry while visiting the bookstore.

First time visit. Quick to place order and get the food/drinks. Lots of yummy pastry options, breakfast items, sandwiches, and salads.
The side of bacon was delicious, cooked in maple syrup, very crisp. Pizza bagel was tasty .
The iced latte was nice, but I could have used an extra shot.

Terrible attitude from the dark haired girl who gave us our food, evening of 01/29/2026. I understand when getting soup, bread may be served on request, but why would I be asking for if we were not asked about it when ordering?! Granted it was 5:30 pm and maybe you did not have anymore, but you didn’t have to give me attitude. I hope you take some notes froth person who took our order.
The person who took our order was very nice and treated us warmly. Other than that, the Food was great as always, but the interaction soured the experience.

I’ve been getting coffee here daily for years and always loved it. I probably spend $400 a month at this dang place.

My brother, who also lives and works in the area, tells me constantly how awful the customer service is there when you order food- to the point where he refuses to go. I’m celiac and can’t eat anything over there so I hadn’t ever experienced what I did today.

Today we’re at the bookstore together and I decided we need to make a coffee stop. My brother, Loren, orders a sandwich. He says he needs it to go. Person at the register is pleasant enough. I order a coffee separately and am quickly served. We wait a bit for the sandwich, and we finally go up to the counter after maybe ten minutes and see the same sandwich he ordered in a basket. It has a ticket on it that says “Owen.” Easy mistake, really. He says, “Is this maybe Loren’s?” And the person behind the counter immediately snaps “it says Owen.”

Okay. So we wait a few more minutes. We’re now 15 minutes out and several people who ordered after are served. He steps up and say “hey, I ordered a BLTA on sourdough for Loren, I think it may have been put in under Owen, but-“ and before he can finish his thought they snap back at him again “it’s probably yours because this one hasn’t been picked up.” At this point he’s like, “okay, I ordered mine to go- could I-“ and the girl behind the counter slams a box on the counter and says “here’s a box.” And turns away.

I’m annoyed, because while I understand we have inconvenienced you, who is standing here chatting with an off-duty coworker for 30 minutes, we literally did nothing to deserve the attitude.

Loren scoops the sandwich out of the basket and puts it into the box and this girl has the nerve to turn around and say “dirty dishes go behind you at the service bar.” Oh, so now we have to bus YOUR hand off table, too?

No sorry, no thank you, not even the offer to box up his food or put away the freaking basket.

Is it because Loren is very clearly not white? Or is it because this lady today had a bad day and took it out on someone for interrupting her mid-shift gossip about how the mall security is full of idiots who don’t do their job? Go ahead and take a gamble and let me know, because I won’t be back.

I really like this spot. I was sad to learn there used to be three locations and this is the last one. They have a nice menu variety ranging from breakfast items, lunch, drinks, and pastry both sweet and savory. The prices are also reasonable.

Having said that, my croissant sandwich was a little greasy and the chai was too sweet. But the quiche is moist and delicious!

This is such a cute little bakery in the third place bookstore in Lake Forest Park. They always have great options when it comes to baked goods and cakes. The customer service is the main thing I think they need to work on. The girl in the burgundy shirt today That was checking us out, was so rude. She has curly black hair and glasses. She absolutely had no energy to deal with customers. I tried to ask her a few different questions, but hardly received a response. There was no kind of greeting or thank you. She packed my savory and sweet croissants on top of each other and powdered sugar got all over the savory croissant. I went up to discuss this with her and it appeared that I was Bothering her. I couldn’t find anybody who looked like a manager so that I could speak to them. It’s really frustrating to receive this kind of customer service from a neighborhood bakery.

Our experience at Honey Bear Bakery was okay. After shopping in the book area, we queued and ordered lunch.

Orders placed after us were called out before ours, and once our order was up, the half sandwich was pretty burnt. The cafe clerk who rang in our order wasn’t someone I’d call welcoming / approachable, so we didn’t even bother mentioning it to them to fix. Plus, we didn’t want to wait another 20 mins for half a sandwich.

The other items ordered were presented well, and were served at proper temperature.

Drip coffee was delicious, they had a clean and stocked self serve of utensils and condiments. Complimentary water + cups were a nice thing to find they had as well.
