Urban is temporarily closed while I am in the process of selling the restaurant to new owners. The new owners will hopefully update you when they are ready to open. They will be accepting all gift cards purchased from us Cafe/Bistro serving breakfast, lunch, and some dinners. Although we are open Friday and Saturday nights, we do close from time to time because of holidays, local events or high school teenager events. Because we are staffed by mostly teenagers, we sometimes defer to their schedule and availability. Call to see if we are open on Friday or Saturday night or follow us on Facebook or Instagram for the most up to date information.
New American small plates & wine are served at this bistro & bar with a cozy, relaxed ambiance.

When we first ordered drinks, we asked to put our food order in at the same time since we already knew what we wanted. The waitress refused, which was unusual but we let it go. However, when one friend asked for her latte “half as sweet,” the waitress rolled her eyes upon saying she’d tell the barista. That set the tone for the rest of the visit and honestly should have been our sign to leave.
A friend ordered the fruit platter, which was extremely small for the price, and when my friend & I ordered scrambled eggs we received powdered eggs—not real eggs. That’s something you expect at a Motel 6 continental breakfast, not at a café where you’re paying full restaurant prices. On top of that, there were two hairs in my food, which I sent back. At that point, it was hard to have any confidence in the kitchen.
The billing was another problem. Part of my friend’s bill was added to mine, and she was overcharged for her eggs at a price different from what the menu listed. When we pointed it out, we were told that “the menu prices changed,” yet the posted menu was never updated and no one mentioned inaccurate pricing when we arrived.
We also ordered two different lattes—one hot, one iced—and they came in identical styrofoam cups with no markings. When we asked which drink was which, the barista said she didn’t know. Only then or was addressed that the iced latte had been made hot and needed to be remade. For what I paid for my latte, I essentially received a plain cup of coffee and wish I had waited for the delicious $2 Kwik Trip coffee. By then, I didn’t even bother complaining, I just wanted to get far away from this joint!
Lastly, two friends ordered sandwiches that listed bacon as an ingredient, but instead of actual slices, they received piles of bacon crumbles. It was messy, unappealing, and absolutely disgusting. The menu should specify “bacon crumbles”.
Overall, this was not a good experience in any way, and I would strongly recommend choosing literally any other spot in town. I would give negative stars if that were an option, but since I can’t I am made to feel like a liar by giving 1 star.
I don’t recall the server’s name but she did great.
There are tons of things for resale, even some beautiful artwork.
