TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Amazing chicken! The spices were incredible and the heat was spot on, and the chicken was very juicy! Sandwich was good, and i really enjoyed the loaded fries. Cashier was awesome, being my first time to Dave’s he explained everything to me. Also the inside of the restaurant was a very clean fun atmosphere, and clean bathrooms. Quite possibly my new favorite chicken sandwich!

Dave’s is my new favorite fried chicken in the area! They have a great range of spice levels, and the Reaper level is no joke – I tried it and couldn’t get more than a couple bites in personally, I love the smaller menu because everything on it is great! They only do a few things but do them very well, which seems ideal to me. A word of warning, their rewards/app system is not very good and I had trouble both redeeming rewards and getting points for purchases – worth double checking when you order in person or just order via the app. Their customer service is good though, the staff is friendly and accommodating.

I had to come leave a review because Keiry at Dave’s Hot Chicken truly made this visit stand out. From the moment I walked in, her energy was warm, welcoming, and genuine. She didn’t just take an order, she actually made the experience feel cared for. Everything was explained clearly, she was patient, attentive, and moved with confidence like someone who takes pride in what they do.
It’s rare to come across service that feels both efficient and personal at the same time, but she balanced it perfectly. The food was great, but the reason I’ll be back tomorrow is honestly because of how pleasant the interaction was. You can tell she enjoys helping customers and it shows in every detail. Wow, my son right! He recommended I try this place out a few days ago. If you like REAL chicken and of different spice levels, THIS IS THE PLACE. I tried both Second highest spicy: EXTRA HOT…and the REAPER HOT level – the hottest. They weren’t playing around. I eat some of the hottest cuisine in the world.
Trust me – Hands down, the best spicy chicken I have ever had. Sorry Popeye’s. You gotta sit in the back seat from now on. (But I do love Popeye’s beans and rice)
If you’re not into spicy, no worries. They have NON- spicy too. Still juicy thick chicken breast with not a lot of breading like other places. Go try it! But fear the reaper.
