The food was ok. We asked for our scrambled eggs to be dry but they came out under done. Too much mayonnaise on the breakfast sandwich but it wasn’t bad. French toast had a different flavor that wasn’t great. The pancakes were excellent and the orange juice tasted freshly squeezed and was absolutely amazing.

Great place. Staff are excellent. Food is really good, enough variety everyone can find a favorite, but classic staples. Leave the huckleberry stuff alone so there will be enough for me next time I go.
Best coffee in the area… Get beans to take with you… Worth the 2 hour drive for me. I get 5# bag, smooth, just about a perfect roast unless you like the burnt Starbucks flavor.

Our meal was great! I had the chicken-fried pork breakfast. It was very good. The breading was crisp and flavorful. The pork loin was good and the portion was generous. My son had a cinnamon roll with huckleberry sauce. Good and big. All-around, good food, good flavors and generous portions for a good price.

Had the country fried steak yesterday. Its probably one of the best I’ve had in Montana! You can tell they make it from scratch. Excellent flavor!! The pancakes and hash browns were also amazing!!

Great breakfast! The Hardware Skillet was excellent and the pancake was good! Nothing was burnt, everything was cooked to perfection and flavorful. They perfectly cooked my over-hard friend eggs. The black coffee was good too.
Normally, I don’t like breakfast out since most breakfast places disappoint me. But this was delicious and I’d definitely go back! I’m looking forward to trying dinner sometime too!

Generous servings of well prepared meals, servers were welcoming ,friendly, and professional. Everything was top notch – except for the extremely loud head banging volume of the sound system. Maybe I’m old or maybe it was the managers day off and the staff took a few liberties ? Then again it may have been a well purposed plan to drive the diners back out to their cars . Happy New Year ! Next time we’ll opt for the take out

Do yourself a favor and get the banana bread French toast. It is heavenly with a side of sweet cream. Their pancakes are also delicious, I recommend the lemon ricotta. The staff is always friendly. The food is always amazing. I also love the coffee, it is one dang good cup of coffee. If you are in Helena it is worth the 15-20 minute drive to Montana City to get these pancakes and French toast. The eggs Benedict ain’t too bad either. Hearty portions, decently priced, the best breakfast spot in the area hands down.

We went for brunch/breakfast, and the food was delicious. I got the French Toast with huckleberries as recommended by a friend, and I would get it again. The huckleberry cream was rich yet slightly tart, and it perfectly paired with the soft french toast. The atmosphere was relaxed and the restaurant is really cute.

Every restaurant should model after the Hardware Cafe. This place has amazing food and complements to the chef for preparation, quality, and taste. Wait staff is very friendly and very accommodating.

It’s a GREAT breakfast spot in a different spot of Helena. This feels like more of a local spot which I really appreciate. The skillets are yummy, I think next time I’ll get a poached egg to really harmonize all the food i get. The pancakes are classic with sugar syrup rather than real maple syrup.
This place does get crowded so be aware and be patient. Sundays it will be super busy and it stays slammed even close to closing.
