Although the Island View restaurant just recently reopened to customers, it has not fully opened its rooftop bar area but will be open very soon. That being said, the restaurant portion that is open is beyond comparison with its spectacular views and top notch service.
We ordered the chicken wings (jerk style) as an appetizer and the Fish and Chips and a Pepperoni Pizza.
Everything was very flavorful and made correctly.
The menu ranges from pizza to steamed oysters to various other options.
Our waitress, Karmen went out of her way to make our dining experience even more enjoyable with friendly chat and was very knowledgeable about any questions we had about the menu or any local information that we had questions about.
Overall it was a great experience and we enjoyed our visit.
I would encourage anyone to visit the 6th floor of the Lani Kai and try the Island View restaurant. I can’t wait to return and see how they are doing when the other portion of the rooftop restaurant opens.
Edit: I believe the entire rooftop of the Island View restaurant is open as of 11/21/2025.

Christopher and Shawn were excellent during serving us. There was no wait time and we had 17 people. The servers were very friendly and did everything to make us satisfied. The food was excellent and I was overall very impressed.

As fellow service industry, my group questioned our entire experience here. We were rushed out after having ordered a medium rare steak that came out well done with no pink at all. She argued “well I put well done that’s what you told me” meanwhile the ticket clearly had medium rare typed out on it. Our server and the manager argued with us not willing to comp the item until you can see lights turn on in his head knowing they were in fact wrong for the way they treated us. The kitchen staff stared us down the rest of the time and made us extremely uncomfortable. We were in the middle of trying to finish the rest of the food, bite in mouth, and they are making us pay. I’m not one to leave a bad review and she still got a 30% tip, i’m so upset with this I probably won’t come back to this part of the hotel 🙁

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Island View! Once you get up the elevator it’s very classy and the manager, Chris, was very kind and accommodating even though we didn’t have a reservation. Our server Kris was also very attentive and warm. It was my birthday and the restaurant provided me with a free small champagne bottle and a free desert! The live singer also sang me happy birthday. It was so much fun and the food was delicious. We ordered a salad and our entrees came with salads and soups, and we also were provided with delicious warm bread with cheese stuffed in it. Vodka pasta was a 10/10! Everyone was so nice and checked in on us several times. Beautiful views and not too loud or dark in the restaurant. I will definitely be going back

This restaurant is located on the 6th floor of the Lani Kai Resort. We were in the outdoor section by the bar. Parking is not free. The parking attendant, an older bald, heavy set man, is pretty gruff and does not appear to like his job. He was yelling at people constantly. He even yelled at our Lyft driver for wanting to drop us off closer to the elevator as I have a disability. We took a Lyft over here. In order to get to the restaurant part, you need to go up an old elevator that holds 6 people, go through a loud, rowdy bar and then you get to the outdoor seating. Even though we called early in the morning to reserve the swinging table next to the view, and were promised it, they said they did not receive our reservation and it was made for another indoor restaurant up there! So then we had to speak to the manager, 2 servers and finally after waiting for other diners to leave, we were able to get the table we requested in the morning. We ordered Crab Cakes, which tasted mediocre and Clam Strips with fries. Nothing special. Our main reason for going there was to catch the Sunset, which they advertise. And we did get to see it. Just don’t expect much and you will be happy if you get the view tables. The entire place needs remodeling badly. No one was wearing a mask that we could see..neither staff nor customers.

Great restaurant with an awesome sun set view right on the gulf. We ate inside for a more formal experience and really enjoyed our meals. We had oysters, clam chowder, pasta and shrimp, grouper Oscar, and seared scallopsps with asparagus and cauliflower puree. To full to move we decided we couldn’t leave without trying a few of their desserts. Great experience, we will be back.

Our favorite restaurant! Sean the manager was amazing and made sure we were happy every time we went! The meatballs were authentic and the best! We had them three nights in a row. Great view and also great servers. Totally recommend! Also the music was very relaxing and the live lounge singer was very good.

The food is amazing. It’s totally worth the visit. The calamari is unique and delicious. It is a calamari lovers dream. The view of the beach and the setting was amazing. The atmosphere is great and very diverse, you can hear accents from all over the place!
My only concern is the length of time in between dishes. It took a long time for each set of dishes to come out so we were there for a while. I do prefer quality over speed but I could see how if its busier the wait could be frustrating for some hungry guests.
The bread and oil dipping sauce was amazing. Everyone at dinner raved about it. I had the mahi mahi picatta. While i love locate a it lacked a strong lemon and caper flavor. It was there but was much more mild than the New York Italian flavors I am accustomed to.
I would recommend this place and visit again. Enjoy!
