Best croissant I’ve had on The Cape! They’ve perfected it — rich and flakey, impossibly layered with just the right amount of chew… AND THE FLAVOR!! It has that perfect slight tang of high quality cultured butter and natural leavening (which is absolutely essential and sets apart the great from the good). I’m so glad to hear they’re open year round on the weekends.
We also had a blueberry corn scone which was wonderfully tender and had the faint hint of lemon that compliments the blueberry and corn so well.
The walnut cranberry sourdough loaf was the final purchase on this my first (and definitely not my last) visit. The bread quality is also outstanding. A great crust without being too tough and a lovely moist but open and tender crumb — textbook sourdough (though not too sour). It was studded with tart-sweet cranberries and good chunks of walnuts— so heavenly and flavorful that it didn’t even need butter! But *with* butter?!!? Just try not to eat the whole loaf in one sitting!
Good coffee too! And very lovely service and smiles all around. I guess the line out the door is a regular thing, for good reason. So come prepared to wait. It’s worth it.

Liberty Artisan breads has brought everything that Chatham was missing. An abundance of homemade breads, tasty treats and great coffee. They update their menu daily (on their website) and often switch their items, making every day exciting! Not to mention a great staff that is kind and helpful with making decisions! Definitely give them a try and don’t get discouraged if they run out because there will be great stuff the next day!

Wow. I waited for the summer visitors to leave so I could enjoy and relax. A nice Saturday morning group of people were gathered, buzzing about goings on, with happy tastebuds having coffee and treats. I have to say, their Lemon scones are outstanding! Everything was perfect. From the amount of lemon, the size, the texture, and a dab of sweetness. It was moist and flavorful, and I cant wait for the next! Hubby got a Blueberry scone and loved it as well! He’s not usually vocal about the quality of an item, but he couldnt stop talking about it! Best around. Anywhere.

I had heard about this bakery from friends. I consolidated orders from five couples and drove 20 minutes to the bakery. I was the first in line when the bakery opened. Our five families wanted eight almond croissants, and I was told that we could have only four. The owner told me that this was a “community bakery” and he motioned to the line of people outside. He said that if we took eight croissants that there wouldn’t be any for others who live “in the community”. (I made the mistake of telling him that I had driven from Dennis, a nearby Cape Cod town, but not in Chatham.) Meanwhile I could see at least three dozen almond croissants in racks. I bought my four croissants and then the owner followed me to the cash register and started telling me again that this was a “community bakery” and that I should respect that. The parking lot at this bakery is oversubscribed, and I asked him if he would rather have five cars in the parking lot instead of one. At least then we could have left with eight croissants. What would a family with six children have done? The “customer service” here is poor and discriminatory. I left reminded of how similar this was to a Seinfeld episode about soup. “No Almond Croissant for you!” I am told that the almond croissants were delicious, but I never ate one.

Truly amazing bread – delicious, substantial – worthy to be called the staff of life. And the croissants – yum!

This was my second time in. (My sisters are here weekly since opening.) Coffee is distinctive and unique (in my experience.) The breads are hardy and delicious as are the pastries. A line quickly forms on weekends (especially when The Cape is “occupied.”) The staff here are very friendly and deeply experienced. Plenty of off-street parking. Call or order ahead when you have a large order in mind (or it’s a holiday week.)

How can a bakery have all 5 star reviews (I thought)? Found out that the baked goods were universally exceptional! We had an orange cinammon roll, breakfast pastry and scones, and they were all top notch. They post the limited menu so they can specialize and let you know what to expect. Really nice spot!

The best croissants and pastries on the Cape! We worked with Tom & Sarah for our wedding pickleball tournament & everything was a huge hit at the event! The guests were raving about the croissants. Thank you for fueling our wedding!

Heavenly fragrance greets you as you walk through the door… followed by warm greetings from a friendly staff. The bread and baked goods are delicious. We tried the blackberry lime scones, Swedish cinnamon rolls, and a loaf of sourdough. Everything was top notch with the sourdough transporting me right back to San Francisco. Chatham is so fortunate to finally have a bakery of this caliber!
PS. Try their rich, full bodied coffee for another amazing treat!

Laziest crew Ive seen yet! The 1 baguette they had to sell was burnt and they were rude about it. It was also funny that all the ovens were off and 10workers were just standing around with their thumbs up their “assets” saying they were “sold out of bread” at 10am. I know this state is full of lazy workers but this Location really took the cake. Wouldn’t shop here again.
