What a wonderful way to watch the Sydney to Hobart yachts sail in all while enjoying a lovely meal & wine! The menu is great. The view over the Derwent is uninterrupted. The day was warm with a slight breeze. I really liked their decor. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Best to book if you are wanting to dine with a few people.

How is this place not packed. Great food. We had breakfast here and the chef was happy to adjust to vegan for me. Incredible coffee and best value for money!! The view has to be the best in Tassie. Easy out front parking too!!!

Great view! One of the best cafes in Hobart. We were a group of six people and everyone ordered vegetarian food. And every dish was made to perfection and served with a smile. Gets busy very quickly so book in advance and spare some time to enjoy the view along with delicious food presented beautifully!

What a great spot! Our CTST outing group came here today for morning tea. 12 of us mainly just got a Hot drink. 1 lady had a ginger cookie which she loved, I had a GF Chocolate Brownie which have to was the BEST I have had!! We must come again probably for lunch.

Great dining experience. Good service and nice view. We ordered the scallops and chips, the scallops were crispy but moist in the inside. The seafood pasta tasted not like any usual pasta sauce, mild taste and interesting texture of the pasta. A bit unusual but we enjoyed it. Nice hot and cold chocolate by the river view as well. The only thing was the frequent visit by two noisy miners 😉

Disappointing Experience Overall
I had high hopes for this restaurant given its stunning location and excellent views, but the food was a massive letdown. I ordered the pork belly, which turned out to be almost entirely fat with barely any meat. The cherry tomatoes were raw inside, and the poached apple was so undercooked it was basically raw. The couscous was drowned in an overly salty sauce, making it unpleasant to eat.
The menu lacks variety, which is surprising for a place charging such high prices. When I voiced my dissatisfaction, the waiter suggested swapping the dish for their “best option”—fish and chips, which didn’t feel like much of an alternative given the cost of the meal.
The view might be amazing, but a good restaurant needs much more than that. Sadly, I left feeling unsatisfied and out of pocket. Definitely not worth the price or hype.

My first experience at Seagrass and won’t be my last. Delicious breakfast and coffee. I had the corn fritters with a side of bacon. Service outstanding too! Thank you

This place has the most amazing view. We enjoyed our breakfast in the sun watching the water. The food was also delicious. I had the sweet crumpets which were so soft and fluffy. Would highly recommend.
