Hagemu Japanese Restaurant, San Fernando La Union, Philippines
Reviews
The food, SUPERB. We were soooo full because the servings are huge. The ambiance is so nice. Brings the authentic Japanese ambiance to Bauang, La Union. The service and food prep are on point and timely. Very kind employees. I will come back here and will bring my loved ones to share their good food here in Hagemu.
Will definitely come back here again to eat on our way north! Must try! (It’s in the same building as R Garage)
Hagemu’s food is a wonderful mix of traditional Japanese flavors and new, creative cooking methods. Each dish is made with fresh ingredients, giving it that authentic Japanese taste that’s just delicious.
The restaurant’s atmosphere is really nice, with modern decorations and a calm vibe that makes you feel comfortable. Whether you’re eating alone, with friends, or for a special occasion, Hagemu’s setting is just right for a great meal.
The staff at Hagemu are friendly and know a lot about the food they serve. They help you choose what to order and make sure you have everything you need, so you feel well taken care of during your meal.
And every time you go to Hagemu, you can expect the same high-quality food and service. They always make sure your experience is just as good as the last time you visited.
In short, Japanese Restaurant Hagemu is a fantastic place for delicious food, a nice atmosphere, friendly service, and consistency. That’s why it gets five stars!
The service and atmosphere though was pleasant. The staff were accommodating and they are competent in their knowledge of the menu when being asked. And the atmosphere is eye pleasing.
Commencing with the classic tempura, the dish demonstrated commendable quality despite a slightly thicker breading, which, in context, did not overshadow the overall enjoyment. The salmon sashimi, although regrettably untried, left a lasting impression with its visually striking presentation.
Unfortunately, the vegetable gyoza and spicy tempura remained untasted. Transitioning to the yakisoba, a well-balanced sweetness was discernible, though a reduction in oil content could elevate the dish further.
The beef teriyaki, akin to its chicken counterpart, maintained a certain chewiness, yet the flavors exhibited improvement. The teriyaki sauce, while acceptable, did not overwhelm the dish. Conversely, the chicken teriyaki fell short, characterized by an undesirable chewiness reminiscent of paper.
The Crazy Cali, adorned with diverse toppings, lived up to its name, offering a delightful interplay of flavors and a satisfying portion size. Conversely, the maki, while competently prepared, adhered to conventional expectations.
