I want to El Maguey with my family for dinner, and overall we had a pleasant evening. The atmosphere is really great, It’s a modern yet traditional style. We got two taco kids meals and they were definitely over priced for what they were. The restaurant was really clean and we had great service. This restaurant is slightly pricey, but other than that I have no complaints.I think it’s worth checking out!

One of the better Mexican restaurants in the Kansas City area. I feel this Mexican restaurant would gain more business on the Kansas side where it is more Mexican friendly.
This place has a large variety of Mexican food including California style. One of the rare Mexican restaurants that has so many options.
The restaurant wasn’t busy and had many places to sit with a large family.
The prices were reasonable. The Mexican staff was nice.

A nicely appointed little spot, and while fairly tasty, the food is pretty run-of-the-mill. Service was fast, but a little “indifferent.” Prices seemed a bit steep for the most part, though their taco deal was well worth it.

Service: we had reservations for 6, were sat right by the door (not a big deal), visited a couple of times for chips & salsa and drinks within the first 10 minutes of sitting down, but wasn’t visited again for about 50 minutes. I then had to go request someone to visit us, which came 5 minutes later. All of the food came out separate, the last dish 10 minutes later than the first, and when new tables were seated next to us, they were serviced IMMEDIATELY. Our main server also wasn’t any kind of willing to help, he was just there to do a job, which is fine, but he didn’t do it well.
Atmosphere: solid! Good decorations, comfortable seating, ample spacing.

We went for the first time this weekend and we were greatly surprised! The atmosphere was really nice and looked very clean. The wait staff were friendly and professionally. Our waiter could have been a bit more efficient but he was friendly.
Food was delicious. Really like the variety of their menu. I had the El Toriado with corn tortillas and the cheese on the side (pictured). My husband got the carnitas dinner. My father in law got a burrito. Everyone was very impressed with their individual entry. Their salsa is good. The waiter was gluten sensitive informed. I cannot say if they have fryers that are dedicated to gluten free items. I did not suffer from cross contamination issues if their chips are fried with gluten items. We were so impressed, that husband wants to go again the next weekend.

Soooo GOOD!! We went by there at like 20 minutes til close, so we asked for menus to order to go. The nice man said, “you can sit and eat in, if you want to.” We did. Our server, who’s name I should’ve gotten, was a beautiful Hispanic lady, with a pretty smile and excellent service!! Despite the language barrier. Only once she had to call someone over to translate something we ordered and she apologized over and over, saying she is learning. We did the best to assure her that is was no problem and she was doing amazing!
That woman should get a raise and also train these younger people on customer service skills!

The food is absolutely amazing—so delicious! I ordered El Toriado, and the portion was huge. I couldn’t finish it all. It was incredibly tasty. Highly recommend!
