The fried chicken w grilled scallion and pickled pepper potato salad (losts of celery), smoked jalapeño buttermilk was chicken chicken , a dining winner, while the blue plate meat loaf whipped potatoes with blue lake green beans is a must return reason. Pan roasted rock fish w romano beans gypsy pepper pastina harissa-orange broth sungold tomato raita.
This place was very narrow.
All of the dishes were well plated, with generous portions.
Thank you for an excellent dining experience.
The chicory salad with dates was very good, with a tasty dressing and nice balance.
The charred octopus had a great, tender texture but lacked any real charred flavor and felt flat and boring.
For mains, the salmon was tasty but unremarkable. The steak was served as several pieces rather than a proper cut, ordered medium but arriving closer to medium-well to well, with some chewy parts. The salsa and potatoes were fine, but the dish did not meet expectations.
Dessert, the brownie with ice cream and whipped cream, was underwhelming. The brownie was chewy and lacked a deep soft chocolate flavor, and the ice cream and whipped cream were very standard.
Service was okay but not particularly friendly. The restaurant was very loud, the chair unstable, and the table uncomfortable due to poor legroom.
Overall, not bad, but not good either. I would probably not come back.
The rockfish was enjoyable, cooked to perfection and bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. The cozy ambiance and attentive service made the meal even more enjoyable.
They have a very cute outdoor yard which would be perfect for a small gathering.
Service was first rate and each course was amazing.
I can’t wait to bring our family back.
Yes the KEY LIME Dessert is the best I’ve had in years!!!
I’m excited that the restaurant can accommodate dietary restrictions.
Smoked Beef Bruschetta was by far the highlight for me! Great presentation, tender high quality beef, textures with the crunch and soft toppings fit right in the mouth and the saltiness leaned salty but in a way that really felt balanced somehow. Highlight recommend.
The rockfish had a comforting and soupy savoriness, the beans were a bit more Al dente than I normally like but the owner explained how it brought a teethiness to the dish and I loved the description and ended up agreeing in the end. Kind guy!
The gnocchi seemed overwhelming upon first sight but all the flavors worked great together, a bit softer of a gnocchi than I normally appreciate but I enjoyed all my bites regardless, the greens and corn brought a unique taste that really worked well.
Would return !
We began our meal with an array of delicious small plates, including deviled eggs, charred octopus with harissa, arancini balls, and baked goat mac and cheese. Each dish was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. The deviled eggs were silky smooth, while the charred octopus was perfectly cooked and served with a vibrant, freshly made harissa sauce. The goat mac and cheese was rich and creamy, topped with a beautifully baked cheese crust. The arancini balls, paired with a well-balanced tomato sauce.
For our entrees, we opted for the gnocchi with succotash and fried chicken. The fried chicken boasted a crispy, flaky batter, served with a refreshing buttermilk sauce. The gnocchi was cooked to perfection, with a generous portion that left us taking some home. We adored the cozy ambiance of the back patio, a charming and homey space that I’m already considering for a future birthday celebration. We can’t wait to return and indulge in more of their food!
Each of the three dishes we got was very tasty: the tomato and pluot salad (very fresh, and well balanced with burrata and seasoning) the Mac and cheese (rich, with a classic taste), and the ricotta gnocchi (great fluffy texture and multi-dimensional seasoning).
Top it all off with a solid playlist with polo y pan and tame impala, and the experience was everything we could have hoped for!
