A beautiful restaurant with a stunning view — definitely worth visiting for the scenery alone. The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy, and the service is attentive and friendly. The menu is interesting and creative, and the presentation of the dishes is lovely.
Unfortunately, the steak was overcooked and slightly burnt, which affected the overall impression. However, the rest of the food was tasty, and overall it’s a great place

This place has such a cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious. Our waiter was truly amazing and checked on us frequently. We were seated on a window view to the lake. Its our first time dining in and we are looking forward to returning in the near future.

This was the first time we ate at the new reboot. We were given homemade potato chips with a sour cream dip which were complimentary. My husband and I shared the crab cakes that were good. Tartar sauce and a bourbon mustard were included. The mustard didn’t go with this. The crab cakes were lightly fried so they didn’t have that crunchy top. We then shared the club which was good. They were busy so service was a bit slow. I don’t care for fried food so finding something was a challenge. A few healthy options would have been appreciated. I saw the cheese board come out and it looked very nice. Unlike a review here showing some cheese and flatbread. Not sure what happened with yours.

My family and I absolutely loved our dining experience at Oak and Oar. This restaurant has become our new favorite spot for a delicious affordable fish fry and family meal. Between the stunning views of the lake to the decadent food, I would recommend Oak and Oar to everyone. We are so looking forward to returning.

Oak & Oar is the kind of restaurant that makes you wonder why you ever trusted yourself to cook. The moment my prime rib arrived, I swear a tiny choir sang. The meat was so tender I briefly questioned whether cow massage therapy is a thing.
I didn’t even take a picture of my food because I wanted to dig in.
Now, let’s talk about these 1-star reviews. These people seem miserable. I feel bad for them. I feel bad for their friends and family.
Everyone at my table was happy.
Will be back 100%!

Food was delicious! The views of Lake Geneva were amazing. We went twice during our visit and both our servers were so prompt and sweet. Madelyn gave us great advice for Winter Fest and Seth brought my mom a birthday brownie as we were there celebrating. Thank you for a great experience!

The food and the service is fantastic. The view is beautiful. We have been there twice now since the restaurant was revamped and both times were great. The chips and creamy horseradish dip are a great starter! I’ve had the Weinerschnitzel and the Flat Iron Steak so far and they are top shelf. Cannot believe I don’t have a picture to share but trust me the food and service are the best on the lake for a “fancier” sit down meal.

The service was horrible… There was only two tables in the restaurant.
It literally took two and a half hours to complete our meal and get our bill.
Repeatedly asked waitress to refill our drinks….. 10 minutes later coming back again had the reminder her
I did read the reviews and menu before I arrived I thought I was safe with the prime rib and I was the potato was broccoli beer cheese baked potato I wish you would have said something I would have ordered it plain or just butter. Not a fan of beer cheese. I sure miss Grandview Restaurant this was my mom’s favorite place for the last 40 years.
Great View food was okay.
Chef Ramsay what I had a field day.

We dined last night at Oak and Oar with our visiting family from Colorado. It’s such a beautiful place with the best view on the lake. The food was probably the worst food we’ve ever had. I was embarrassed to take my guests there. Two of us ordered a smash burger, one with a bun and one without. The no bun burger came out with just two patties about the size of a half dollar with no lettuce, tomato or onion. Just two patties. We asked for the French fried onions, which was a $5 upgrade and there was only a tablespoon on the plate and they were not eatable. We told our waitstaff and he immediately sent the manager over who was very confrontational with us….right in front of our small grandchildren. She looked so unprofessional, we were shocked that she could look like that and represent a so called upscale restaurant. Our bill was almost $200 and she only took off $5 for the poor food. We have no interest in ever going back. It’s too bad because we have been going there for over 30 years and have great memories of wonderful dinners and celebrations.
