arrived around 5:30p, it was already pretty busy but was seated quickly. atmosphere was cozy, clean; felt like i stumbled on one of those hidden neighborhood gems.
crab rangoon was unique! i didnt think i would, but i actually really liked the flavor of the shiso leaf inside. their mexican roll is a great beginners roll, but i would recommend going straight into their speciality rolls: summer roll and scallop bay roll were both fresh.
scallop bay has a citrus zest that brings out the freshness of the scallops (which were nice and buttery). loved the mango on the summer roll, gave it a bit of sweetness.
prices moderate and i left full. staff was also friendly and attentive. water glass was always topped off. would def come back.

I recently ordered takeout from Bonsai Sushi, and it was an excellent experience. The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared, with each roll full of flavor and made with high-quality ingredients. Even as takeout, everything was packaged neatly and stayed fresh and delicious. The staff was friendly and efficient when I picked up my order, making the whole process quick and easy. If you’re craving great sushi in Wesley Chapel, Bonsai Sushi is definitely a top choice!!

I have been coming to Bonsai for years and have never been let down, and tonight finally made me write a review.
The effort that John (sushi man in the hat) puts into each roll is incredible, he has a real talent and creativity with the way he creates an order. I have asked for the “Chef Special” a few times throughout the years and each time it is perfect and somehow better than the last. The presentation is beautiful, the flavor is incredible, and it shows a lot of pride taken in his work. Even when there’s a rush, he takes the time to make a unique roll that I have never had before. The quality in each piece is outstanding.
Alyssa is the best server. Attentive, detail-driven, friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable of the menu and different sushi combinations. Always a delight!
The crew here is wonderful and each new hire is a joy.

“Christine’s Roll” is amazing. I can’t find this anywhere else. The local original, I’ve dined this place for many years, way before the population boom. Nice and cozy. Not too chaotic like other places. However, as of late the prices hiked and portions size has diminish. But can’t avoid the Christine roll..! FYI, parking is limited.

I was craving sushi since I was in the area and this restaurant was the closest. I arrived a little too late though since I wanted to dine in.
I got here around 9pm and the hostess (tiny and pretty girl) told me that they don’t take dine in after 9pm, which was fine with me but then again I also didn’t want to take out because I am soooo lazy to throw my own trash away after eating especially in my car.
They’re so friendly! I will definitely be back when I have time to dine in.

Terrible food and even worse service. We let them know how we feel and she walked away from the table without saying a word. The shrimp tempura was full of oil. The fish was obviously previously frozen, had the skin still on pieces and the texture was disgusting mush. Won’t be back, it was gross!

Do not be discouraged by the outside or limited parking out front, as this is one of the best sushi places in the Wesley Chapel area! The service is amazing and the food quality is so fresh! I always look for a sushi roll with Mango and they did not disappoint! Prices are very reasonable. Grab yourself a glass of plum wine and have some of the most perfectly crafted sushi around!
