Upon the many recommendations, I finally snuck in yesterday for a breakfast sammy.
Small, Upscale bar atmosphere. Tempered, and modest, warm and inviting.
Chicken snitzel with a sunny side up, cooked perfectly with yoke oozing out over the sides of the golden crispy breading.
Chicken was juicy, to the point of YOU will need a napkin or two!
RETIRED DRINKER- bar is clean, drink selection is well curated, bar staff is absolutely wonderful!

Highly recommend for a date night or if you want a nicely curated, elegant meal. Presentation is beautiful. You can tell they take care in ingredient selection and plating. The flavors are excellent. If you go, plan to enjoy the experience more than expect huge portions. Would definitely go back.

Absolutely loved brunch! Small and cozy vibe with a nice atmosphere. German influenced brunch menu. Everything was fantastic and the Bloody Mary was in my top 3 of all-time faves. Will definitely be back!

Very pleasant dinner with family. I got there early, and the bartender quickly engaged me in conversation and a drinks interview. Good spirits selection, small but well-chosen taps. Meal was VERY good, a schnitzel with great toppings. My nephew is vegan, and they came up with a cabbage and farro off-menu dish that was quite tasty. Not cheap, but value for the money.

Really cute hidden gem; great to have a low-key fine dining experience with friends and family. Would not recommend for parties larger than 6 people as it’s a small venue. Would 1000% recommend for girls night dessert, appetizer and drinks. Loved everything, but feel their German influence/inspiration/origins have been buried by the creative oeuvre of the chefs. Not complaining but miss having traditional german dishes and this used to be the place for that. Most of the menu is perfectly contemporary and complex in flavor, but the entrees were either too small or too salty. Loved the wine that was recommended to us, but was shocked by the wine prices. Just can’t get cheap good wine outside of Europe I guess. They have very friendly service staff; we will definitely be back.

Great date night spot, has a very nice romantic vibe with the restaurant being lit by candles. Jake helped us out we had a problem with open table but he helped us fulfill our reservation. Great service great food definitely recommend the roasted oysters !

We really enjoyed our dinner. My boyfriend says that one of his top meals he’s had in Richmond since we moved here 8 months ago! He had the short rib goulash the meat was very tender and the dumplings were tasty. One thing I would say about this dish it is not the largest dish in the world but it is one of the most tasty. In contrast I had the schnitzel which was humongous. We really enjoyed our appetizer of fried cauliflower. We strongly recommend that you make a reservation, the place was packed on a Tuesday night. Also the menu is not the biggest!*****watch out for cool special! Last night the had a schnitzel sandwich spear very crowded!

We just had one of the best dinners in Richmond at Metzger. Starters we got the cabbage, winter squash, and scallops (perfectly cooked on all fronts). For dinner we split the schnitzel. Again so delicious. Our only complaint is the cocktails are strong but is that even a bad thing?
