We are a quaint little place on the coast where you can lay your worries down, feel at home, enjoy chatting with locals, great food and drinks, take in a game, listen to some good music and enjoy the coastal breeze. We have a small staff and each of us truly enjoy what we do. We strive to ensure everything we offer is of the highest quality. We have a variety to choose from including, shrimp, fish, chicken, burgers, bison burgers, nachos and more. Our flash fried Brussels sprouts served with a delicious vinaigrette are a must try appetizer, among many choices. Come as strangers… leave as friends… see ya soon!
Casual, coastal eatery with seafood & American fare, full bar, lots of TVs & graffiti on the tables.

Really love this place! Great food, friendly staff and a real chill vibe. Don’t miss Thursday nights when there’s live music, I think they’re called The Pickers. It’s a bunch of guys playing there acoustic guitars. 70’s rock and some classic country, whatever comes to mind.

An open air restaurant on Highway 87. Cute beach vibe place. The service is good, the food is good, and the mood relaxed. The Bloody Mary was spicy and tasty, and the fried shrimp platter was, as I said earlier, good. We eat here fairly often, and while the seafood here is not “delicious” it is always dependably decent. Also, because it is not in the busy area of Crystal Beach, it is not always as crazy busy as some of the other restaurants…you should definitely give Hardheads a try.

We stopped by Hardheads for lunch and had a great experience.
We started with the fried pickle spears, and honestly, they were probably the best fried pickles I’ve ever had. They had great seasoning in the crust, with a nice hint of dill, and the pickle inside was just crispy enough without being soggy. We added a side of the Bolivar sauce (a chipotle ranch with lime) for dipping, and it paired perfectly.
For my meal, I had the shrimp platter and it was absolutely delicious. The shrimp were cooked just right and full of flavor. (The photo was taken after I ate a few). My wife had the nachos and they were ok. Our friends had the chicken Alfredo flatbread and it was just alright, they were envious of my fried shrimp.
Highly recommend Hardheads, especially if you’re craving flavorful fried food and a laid-back coastal vibe.

HardHeads in Crystal Beach is a great place to watch the game, get some cold beverages and enjoy a good time! We came between meals so ordered some nachos and funnel cake fries which were both really good. The funnel cake fries needed a little more powdered sugar so that’s just what we added. My vodka cherry limeade was quite tasty! Go check the place out!

We ate here last night. The open-air vibe was neat. It was very windy, but it was nice since it is 100+ outside and no inside air conditioning of any kind. We had the chips and salsa. The salsa had more of a tomato/ketchup taste? Chips seemed fresh and maybe even cooked in-house. We also had these empanadas that had sort of an ettoufee inside them and they were good. We also had the wedge salad (chopped), and it was good also. Then we ordered the Italian pizza. On the menu, it says it has olives, ham, salami, and of course cheese. It didn’t specifically say green olives, so just a heads up. The crust is amazing, and I feel if we had known the type and quantity of green olives, we could have asked to leave them off. We love olives, but just the quantity of green olives made the pizza so salty we just ate one piece each.
We did have a sweet waitress and another young lady who was super sweet checking on us. With a bit of tweaking, this food could be amazing. I don’t want this to seem like a negative review because it’s not. We will give it another shot in the future and try a different pizza.

We were sat immediately when walking in but it took us an hour of waiting to get our appetizer (Nach-Yo fries) and an hour and a half for our actual food (shrimp platter and chicken fried steak sandwich).
The food was actually pretty good but they didnt let us know until after they set the appetizer down in front of us that they were out of bacon (so we paid $12 for just some fries and cheese on top). They also only had 3 shrimp for the shrimp platter but did substitute it for a filet. We wouldn’t have minded but we ordered within the first 10 minutes of being there and wasn’t told that until after we were already there for an hour and some minutes they didnt have enough.
However, if you dont mind the wait, it is some good food. I would just recommend this place if you have a lot of time to spare.

Absolutely amazing. Great service. My sister and I were running late and they stayed open so we could get their awesome fried Brussel Sprouts. Yummy. Sarah and the rest of the staff are extremely accommodating. Thank you for a great experience.

Have been a few times -mainly for the jalapeño margs- but will not be returning due to the last encounter. We ordered the egg roll appetizer. My husband and I each took a bite of one of them to agree that they tasted spoiled. We let the server know that we wanted to return them. We finished our meal and drinks, received the bill and were charged for the egg rolls. We inquired as to why we were charged. The response was,”okay, I’ll take off half.” What?? We pressed that they should be removed. The server left and never returned. We caught the attention of the manager and asked for our bill as we had been waiting for ten minutes for the server to return with a new check. The manager then let us know that the server had taken care of the entire bill. What?? That’s not fair we thought and also not at all what we asked for. To note: we never, ever got excited or were rude with anyone. We just didn’t think we should pay for rotten egg rolls. For history purposes, this isn’t the first time the server has been “weird” with us. I really think there is something wrong with her or she was on something. Needless to say, we paid for everything except the egg rolls and left the money on the table. The manager is extraordinarily unprofessional. If she announced it once, she said 3 more times that she was working a double. Cry me a river! The owners aren’t much better. They set perched at the bar on their personalized stools being waited on by the staff – in front of customers. Every time we have seen them there, they leave stumbling. Very unprofessional establishment that we have tried to support, but no more!

We had a party of 4. When we arrived we were the only customers in the restaurant. A couple showed up 5 minutes later. They ordered right before us. Got theirs first. Another couple came in 15 minutes after us. Ordered and got theirs before us. It took 35 minutes for 3 of us to get our food. It took an additional 5 minutes for the 4th person to get theirs. That is unacceptable.
