Fantastic food and a real gem here in Providence!! I love ordering a favorite in addition to trying a new dish every time. The main guy, is kind and lovely. This place should be packed more often it’s so good. They could work on updating the interior but it’s always nice to sit on the front patio.

My go-to spot for biryani in Rhode Island! The butter chicken and lamb curry are always amazing; rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Great portions and friendly service every time.

Food was terrible. We went in a large group expecting it’d be a good snacks place. Service was actually good. They treated good. The only decent item was samosa. Other snacks were totally not up to the mark. Hope they refine it

Food was poorly prepared, cooked, seasoned, portioned all not done favors by the lack of clarity in the menu; this was possibly because the food also came out extremely quick, which screamed frozen, microwaved, or pre-prepped items. This would all be fine if the quality was there, but it wasn’t:

The Chicken Tikka Masala has little to no flavor or sauce, with dry chicken portions no more than maybe 5 chunks of meat.
The Dal Curry was in a bowl (extremely mall portion for $10) and was bland — for such a normally cheap and flavorful dish, this was the worst.
The Mutton Biryani was redeemable; it was oily and tasted good, yet not in any way meaningful. There were boney and fatty pieces throughout the meat that cut the size of the perceived size considerably.
The Masala Dosa tasted frozen, noted by oily, yet dry, cold and a rough texture. The potatoes inside were fine, and the sambhar was okay. The coconut chutney was poor.
The naan and jasmine rice were cooked relatively well, and had no particular flavor or quality to them.

Servers were attentive and kind, as much as disconcerting; there were several servers that would be looking at our table through the service, but felt more pressuring and uncomfortable.

Prices were good when the portions were, which helped me feel much better about the quality that I didn’t have to pay a lot to dislike it. Total was ~$70-75 before tip.

I’ve been waiting so long to check this place out. I am not disappointed either. First off, I love the name , ‘Not Just Snacks.’
There is a lovely dining area inside and some tables outside as well. The hand painted murals are unique and wonderful conversation pieces of art.
NJS has a great menu list and I can’t rave enough about the actual dishes. Presentation and taste.
The ladies are genuinely beautiful waitstaff with complete knowledge of everything on the menu and the shop as well.
NJS is now my favorite place for authentic

Last visit not good. Very different than what we expect from them. The service was slow and very inconsistent. I asked for my dish spicy and it came out with cinnamon sticks innit and tasted like sugar. They made it sweet. Not spicy. It was awful, but didnt have heart to tell them. Why would spicy come out super sweet. Unedible sweet. It was my wife and I 5 year wedding anniversary and it was bad. We love their food we wanted them for that meal. I should have showed them and let taste. It truly made em question going back beacuse that is a huge mistake. I said hot and spicy. Not Vindaloo spice but hot. And they made it sweet. Wow!! The gentleman taking care of us seemed like he did not know what doing. Maybe we go back. Unsure.
Amazing Indian place on Hope St that is 100% authentic. I’ll let you know a secret!?!? We were on our way to Rassoi, which we often frequent, but stopped here instead and wow were we impressed! They also have a spice place across the street, where they are actually able to deliver authentic spices across to Just Snacks to make authentic, tasty and clean Indian meals. My wife and I had stuffed Aloo Tikki, lentil soup, garlic Naan, Chicken Vindaloo and Tikki Masala. All very good and some outstanding and a few best I have ever had in life. The Naan was the best Naan I have ever had and their Stuffed Aloo Tikki was the best I had ever eaten. My wife said her Tikki Masala was outstanding. My Vindaloo had all the right spices and just the right amount of Vindaloo heat. Some places want to kill with you heat, but forget the flavor of the dish and others vice versa. Not Just Snacks hits the flavor profile and heat perfectly! If I had to give something back it is the Lentil soup. It is not that it wasn’t good. It was, but out of everything else it wasn’t the best as everything else was. Wonderful meal. We can’t wait to be back !! Thanks Not Just Snacks!

A descent Indian restaurant with a good food. You have so many options to choose, and every choice is a good choice if you love Indian food. Also, the place is not fancy at all and you can bring your own bottle.
