We were in the Covington area and looking for a casual lunch place so decided to check out Fat Spoon Cafe. We started with the waffle fries and then got the cobb salad, the slider with fries and grilled cheese with tomato soup. the waffle fries were very good and the cobb salad was also good and a large portion. the tomato soup was good but the grilled cheese was average; the fries with the sliders were very good while the sliders were decent.
overall a nice casual place for lunch. flavors were decent and portion size was good

This is my 1st time having the Breakfast quesadilla, and it was delicious. Everything I have received from Fat Spook has been delicious. Love the inside environment. Amazing customer service. Great place to check out if passing through, or making it a recurring stop.

Friendly if you’re a local, otherwise youre almost invisible. At least with our waitress, who leaned against the bar talking to other people most of the time. Cocktail sauce was gel (see pic), and the “home fries” were just cut up french fries.

Very good Shrimp and grits. This dish was nice. The star of the show was their biscuits. Their biscuits are off the hook, especially when they are grilled.
Service was great. Can’t wait to eat there again.

Well, I asked for over medium eggs, I got over easy. The biscuit was very dark brown and hard. I don’t know what oil that’s being used to fry everything, but it left a taste that wasn’t good at all.
The coffee and service was fantastic.
It’s way over priced. We won’t be going back.

So, why did I give it a 3?
We walked into the restaurant and was not greeted. The girl behind the counter never acknowledged us. We took a seat because you can pick your own seat and it. But none of the staff greeted…
It took a minute before the young lady came, she was nice but I wouldn’t say friendly, but cordial.
The food was good. I had the avocado toast, which was tasty, but I could have done without the balsamic that was drizzled on it. It was really thick.
My husband had the grits, eggs, sausage and a waffle. He liked it, but he said the waffle was a little dry.
Oh yeah! They only have whole milk, no other options.
It’s not a bad spot, I would say try it because you might have a better experience.

3/20/22 Arrived after 11:30 AM. The place was nearly full. I ordered a Reuben with sweet potato fries. The fries were good, perfectly fried and not too salty. The Reuben was good and the plate was visually attractive. Service was good. The place was clean and the ambiance was nice for that time of day and style of restaurant. I found the sandwich a little expensive, but my wife tells me I do not understand costs, especially now with inflation so high. All in all a pleasant visit. And my drink glass lasted me the meal. That was nice as I hate dry mouthing food.

T’was our first time dining in, we’ve done pick up before. Our server was nice, she accommodated us really well and made sure we have everything we needed. We got the eggs benedict and the spoon slam. Both food were equally good. The place was clean as well. Will surely come back next time!

Me and my wife stopped in for breakfast on our way back to Atlanta. Our server was Milaisa. She was absolutely amazing. The food was to die for. She suggested the omelette with crawfish etouffee, life changing. Never thought that would go together but it was really delicious. High recommend 8/10
