Loved,love,loved it! We sat outside on the back patio and it was quiet and relaxed. Our waitress was great and always checked on us and the food was amazing. The best Mexican food this side of Mexico. They have an area in the front by the parking lot that has a grill where you can just walk up and grab tacos and hand heads. The smell was amazing and it was busy. There’s outside seating there as well for grabbing a quick bite. We’ve been to Mexico a number of times and the food here is very authentic and the best we’ve had in the entire northeastern area. We will be back again soon! 5 stars all the way!

My wife and I stopped here for the first time since they opened. Upon asking, the bartender suggested having the Paloma. It was delicious. Since she is a vegetarian, my wife ordered a bean burrito, but got it loaded with all the stuff she likes. I ordered the Barria tacos. They were amazing. The salsa was decent, but it needs a little more flavor. Overall, we had a very positive experience!

Apparently it’s been a while since we’ve been in that area and we don’t even live that far, but we were headed that way expecting it to be the Fish Bar and we were pleasantly surprised that it was Mexican fare! Everyone we encountered were very friendly and polite and very helpful! Service was great. The food was delicious. No complaints whatsoever! Can’t wait to go back for a Friday or Saturday evening when they have live music!!

Wow, incredibly disappointed with our entire experience for dinner here. First of all service was terrible. Our waitress wasn’t very friendly and she was incredibly slow even though it wasn’t busy. Chips and queso were good but we sat there for like 40 minutes before she even took our food order (we were ready). Finally got to order and she highly recommended the charro ribs so husband got that, I got the green chicken enchiladas and we both did refried beans and rice as the sides. When the food finally arrived we’d been there about 1.5hrs.
We have a toddler so we are always quick to order and eat we definitely were not the reason it took so long. When the food came out I could tell it wasn’t going to be great. The enchilada sauce was super dry and there was no cheese (it said it came with cheese and they always do). The chicken tasted like it was seasoned with a packet of store brand taco seasoning and the enchiladas clearly weren’t baked. I took a few bites and decided it wasn’t even worth eating. The beans were okay not a ton of flavor but nothing really wrong but the rice was awful. The rice was super mushy like it’d been way overcooked and didn’t have the best flavor either but I couldn’t get past the texture. Husband said the ribs tasted like they were old and had been reheated. They were tough and not good at all. We both barely touched our meals. Also, husband’s Cadillac margarita wasn’t made correctly.
When the waitress finally checked on us we told her we were unhappy with the meal and all she said was okay so no box then… 0 apology, nothing taken off the check and she didn’t talk to the manager. It was bedtime for our toddler by this point and we just decided to leave instead of tracking down the waitress again to ask for the manager since she took off quickly
I was so excited to try a new spot especially with a nice patio so we are just super disappointed. We won’t be back and I’d recommend anyone else not give it a try.

This place was a real bang-up last night. The food was just ok and the neighborhood is kind of sketchy after midnight, but there was a ton of police, sheriffs, and paramedics outside. Being escorted through the yellow tape was a very nice touch.

Johnny Gringos was pretty good. The layout of the restaurant and bar seems unchanged from the original Fish Bar. The restaurant is in decent shape. The original Fish Bar massive sign is outside still on their back bar and patio seating area which I liked seeing. Their service was excellent. One of their kitchen members came out at some point and talked to my kids which was great. Super nice guy. Their prices were a little steep but unfortunately that seems to be the normal nowadays. Everything we had food wise was good. I would go back for sure. In fact we were going to come back the other day however they dont have a kids menu and my son wanted Mac and Cheese which I wasnt 100percent that they had so unfortunately we went to Perkins instead. Regardless we plan to go back at some point. Having a kids menu would be helpful though
