For starters, service is 1 star because the burritos don’t fill themselves, someone’s back there shaking the spoon to put only one teaspoon of meat on a soft taco. Food tastes great if you forgot how much you just spent on it. $9 “super burrito”? Weighs in at 1/3 of a Pancheros burrito.
What is it, laziness? “Give everyone extremely small portions so that we don’t have to cook more meat”?
Not to mention, if I order a large ole, I expect to receive it. I don’t know whether to chalk it up to the game or go and chew someone out. Rarely am I disrespectful to the hand that feeds me, but I’ll gladly pay what they’re asking if it’s actually in my bag and contains the 14g of protein or 32g of protein that is advertised.
The University Ave Taco John’s has let me down for the 10th time at least. It blows my mind they’re still in business some days.
By the way, my girlfriend asked for extra lettuce, not less meat and beans.

Another sub par burrito. “Boss burrito” more like intern burrito. Advertised as 770-840 calories and this was at most 500. We are not on a diet, otherwise we would have ordered a soft taco.

I have no clue what the “watery” substance is inside my taco, but it’s gross. The shell is even “wet”. I’ve been here twice and twice they have messed up on my food. No tomatoes generally means, no tomatoes. And serving tacos with “watery” substance in them is beyond unacceptable. And when I called, the manager acted like it wasn’t a big deal. Just come back and have it re-made. No thanks.

I went through the drive-through and I always order the same thing – two crispy beef tacos with hot sauce . I should’ve checked my order right away, but I was halfway home and realized I got two soft tacos and they did not provide hot sauce. I drove all the way across town to get my corrected order. Given the inconvenience, I would’ve expected to be able to keep both the wrong order and jjalso my correct order. The people that corrected my order tried to convey that I actually ordered soft tacos, which is laughable because I do not like them and also insisted that I go retrieve the incorrect tacos in order to get my corrected order. There are a lot of places to eat these days. I don’t appreciate the treatment or the outcome and it will not be going back.

I ordered on the app and I recommend you don’t do that. You have to schedule ahead but that’s not when it will be ready, that’s the time they start making it. Also if you don’t select a time for your order, you have to check in at the time you arrive, and then they start to make your order. I showed them that I paid for it online and they refused to give me my food until the time I had set for it (8:30) I showed up 2 min before that.

I love taco johns the food is always good. However this day when I went I wasn’t exactly happy. The person who took my order through the drive was very kind and patient. The woman at the first window was pleasant then comes the second window. She didn’t say a single word to me and just handed my food and closed the window as fast as she could, I couldn’t even ask for hot sauce. I drove around having to park my car and walk inside just to get the hot sauce. It pissed me off to say the least.

Stopped in tonight (9/4) which is probably the first time I’ve dined in in many many years. The guys working behind the counter for all very friendly and very helpful! The building was much cleaner than I remember from a long time ago and overall, it was just a really pleasant experience thanks to the staff working!
