The pulled pork was decent – had a nice rub on it, sufficiently moist, pretty good with sauce. Definitely better than refrigerated pulled pork sold in grocery stores. 7/10
The burnt ends had a 2mm smoke ring around them, held together well, and was cooked through and seasoned. Probably my favorite out of the 3 proteins tonight. 8/10
The brisket will not be ordered again. Thick cut and lacking in flavor and color, way too much of the weight came from the fat cap and connective tissue instead of muscle fiber. The edible portion was disappointing for the price. 2/10
Speaking of price, I would like to highlight that their printed menu on the counter lists a lb of brisket as $24.95 and we were charged $29.95. Similarly the burnt ends are listed as $25.95 and we were charged $29.50. The pulled pork rang up at the same price of $22.95. And there was an additional 3% credit card surcharge that we were not informed about beforehand. Buyer beware.
The traditional bbq sauce was pretty generic, the Smokey bbq sauce (the one the cashier recommended) was really tasty and my favorite out of the 3, and the spicy bbq “sauce” was thrown away after we tasted a sample. It was more oil than sauce, though the spice does linger. We used a bbq sauce we order from the lower 48 (Rudy’s)
The cashier – Gen C – was really friendly, though failed to mention the 3% credit card surcharge. The line cook also looked up and smiled at me, which was appreciated. Overall a mediocre experience, but to have fresh bbq when it’s -15°F out, pretty good. They also partner with DoorDash and were offering coupons for the first order
This will definitely the 1st of many visits. Keep in mind, it is a take out only joint. The crew was friendly and we just happen to meet the owner!
The burger was small
The Mac n cheese tasted like it had soapy water in it.
The brisket ends were cooked good. I loved the bbq sauce!
But the brisket Mac n cheese tasted like it had soap in it.. we had to throw it away.
I believe they were just rushing and it sucks because they have so much potential.
