The tea, excellent. That’s important. I had the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and their Mac-n-cheese. That Mac-n-cheese was so good! I finished of with a piece of their chocolate pie. This was not like a pudding based pie. It was thick and so rich! The treasure was something you take time to savor. The prices were very reasonable. I have to give Blackhorse Mercantile and Cafe an excellent rating and two thumbs up!

The Brisket plate was HUGE and really good! However, the spinach dip was literally cold & they served it with a bunch of smashed up pita chip crumbs, so that was disappointing. It’s usually really good. And my husband ordered a double shot of Jack (neat), and after waiting a good 15 minutes for it, the server brought him a single shot on the rocks. We usually have a really good experience here- I think maybe last night was just an “off” night.

This place originally was an old brothel. It’s been many things since then but its been the Blackhorse Cafe for about the last 3-4 years . All original architecture, the interior is unique . Has 3 levels but for now only two are open to the public . Great food , the prime rib is AWESOME ! Open bar , warm and friendly staff. Loaded mash potatoes are great , chicken fried steak is awesome , it’s truly a unique and beautiful dinning experience. Rumored to occupy restless spirits . Staff member told me that in their course of working there for over a year they’d heard disembodied voices , footsteps going up and down the stairs while nobody else was there . History and great food and an open bar combined with old school original architecture makes this place unique and truly a great experience altogether . I recommend it to all . Prices are excellent , not any more than you’d pay anywhere else . I loved it . I took pictures inside on both levels , it is beautiful interior and id upload them proudly if I knew how to do it . Thanks Blackhorse Cafe , we will definitely be seeing you all again in the very near future. ❤️

Me and my wife have enjoyed lunch here 3 times on our trips up to watch our daughter play softball at Cisco College. Breckenridge is about a 45 min drive north of Cisco and worth every minute and mile to enjoy this great food, wait staff and environment. We both have ordered something different on the menu each time and have yet to be disappointed. The onion soup paired with any sandwich they offer is the bomb. Can’t wait to go back.

The food is delicious! I’ve had the meatball sub, turkey club, salad bar and tomato basil soup. ALL was outstanding. The inside is beautifully done, I love the woodwork at the bar. Definitely a great addition to the town!

Our visit was a letdown from start to finish. Service was almost nonexistent—waiting nearly 20 minutes for water and over 30 minutes for an appetizer is unacceptable. We ordered a sandwich and three burgers, and it still took about an hour for the food to come out. When it finally did, the food was just “meh” at best. To make matters worse, they weren’t even busy. I know they’re new, but at this rate, it feels like they weren’t ready to open their doors.

I thought the meatball sub was great and my guest enjoyed the turkey club with avocado.
I hope they add some entrees to the menu in the future but overall a good start to this venture.

My husband and I love dining at Blackhorse! The food is always consistent and delicious, and the staff is both friendly and efficient. We’re excited about the expanded menu—everything we’ve tried has been fantastic. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between relaxing and fun. It’s truly a great addition to our community!

I got the brisket sandwich with beans and potato salad. It was all very good, more than enough to eat. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet and I always love the atmosphere of the Blackhorse. We also got to visit with Mary, always a plus!!!
