Lupessa completely exceeded my expectations. The dining room is beautiful, and you can tell a lot of thought went into the design. The kitchen itself looked incredibly clean and organized, which to me says a lot about the standards they hold. Everything in the restaurant is just nice to look at.

The service was fast, polished, and genuinely kind. It was an exceptional example of good hospitality. I cannot for the life of me remember our servers name, but he was great! Chef Devon was also especially welcoming and took great care of us, special thanks to him.

The menu is unique and well executed. Everything we tried was delicious, creative, and beautiful. I love food that feels intentional.

This is easily one of my new top spots in Salt Lake City. I’ll absolutely be back.

Try the pasta!!!

I don’t write many reviews but we had such a great time at Lupessa I had to write one. The place is beautiful inside with tons of stone and lighting. All of the food was crazy good, and we got a bit of everything. The pasta and pizza were awesome and we were pleasantly surprised by the Asparagus and poached egg dish. Our server Robert was super friendly and attentive but not stuffy. The chef Devon is super talented. We will be back for sure.

The location is great, and they offer a valet service, although it can be a bit complicated to understand. We had a 7 PM reservation for four guests, but the host mistakenly thought she had given our table away. As a result, we had to wait for our table and ended up having a drink at the bar.

The ambience hasn’t changed much since the Italian Graffiti restaurant was here; the layout is still quite odd.

Now, let’s discuss the food.

We started with their homemade focaccia bread, which was amazing.

For appetizers, we ordered:

– **Beef Carpaccio:** It was fresh, of a good portion size, and absolutely delicious.

– **Burrata:** This was another standout starter. The burrata was fresh, and the accompanying ingredients complemented it perfectly.

– **Little Gem Salad:** This is one of my wife’s favorite salads, and it was very good—perfect for sharing between two people.

When it came to the Primi and Secondi courses, unfortunately, that’s where the experience fell short.

– **Chilean Sea Bass:** The presentation was great, but the fish was a little dry. The portion size was appropriate.

– **Bison Bolognese: ** I love a hearty Bolognese, but this one had too much ricotta for my taste. I’ve had many variations, and this one was disappointing.

– **Scallops: ** My friend said they were good, with around five scallops per serving.

– **Chicken Piccata: ** My friend enjoyed this dish and mentioned that it could have
used a bit more zest and a little less butter sauce. She paired it with fettuccini, which was homemade and very good.

For dessert, I ordered the Lemon Raspberry Cake (a ricotta cake). I’ve had a similar cake that I loved, but unfortunately, this one was on the dry side.

The others ordered the special Salted Caramel dessert, which was absolutely delicious!

Our server was Pietro, was great. He gave some very good suggestions.

**Overall, I enjoyed the restaurant, but the food didn’t give me that WOW factor.

For our New Year’s date we decided to try and new restaurant that kept popping up on our feeds. Lupressa at The Gateway. It was fabulous. We had the brunette as our appetizer. Perfect amount for a starter. I got the Seabass and my husband got the scallops. Both were so so good. The Seabass married the lemon sauce with grape tomatoes and it melted in my mouth. We added the smashed potatoes, asparagus and mushrooms as sides. The asparagus wasn’t my favorite, but aside from that everything was great. We loved it! Atmosphere was exceptional as well.

Such an amazing place for food and vibes. I don’t know why they are rated a 4 start. I loved everything that we had. The fresh bread was outstanding and our appetizer was great. Entrees were good as well. Would go back and try other dishes!

Lupessa is an absolute gem—truly one of a kind in Salt Lake City. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the stunning interior design and inviting atmosphere. The service was equally impressive: warm, professional, and genuinely attentive.
Our server, Petro, was an outstanding host. He took the time to walk us through the concept of the restaurant and the menu with such care and enthusiasm that it really elevated our experience. The food itself was nothing short of fantastic—beautifully presented and full of flavor.
We felt welcomed and relaxed throughout our meal, with no pressure to rush. It was a memorable evening from start to finish, and we can’t wait to return.

Best experience and food I have had! The vibe is amazing and I haven’t seen anything like it before. The food was fresh and had amazing flavors. Our server was very polite and they refilled our waters frequently and kept the table clean in between courses!

The food was delicious, I honestly just wanted to keep eating. I ordered the prosciutto pizza, and it was very tasty. I completely forgot to take pictures because I dove right in. The appetizers are also worth trying; everything we had was so good.

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is the service. Unfortunately, we were mostly forgotten by our server during the entire visit. She came by only twice in the two hours we were there. After our food arrived, we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks or to order anything else. I understand the restaurant was very busy, but I was still expecting a bit more attention.

Risotto, and carbinaraa were to die for and the Italian pino was amazing. We were going to wiseguys so we were kinda dressed down and in a hurry but the staff was super nice and accommodating! I will definitely go back when I have time to experience the whole menu. Definitely try this place

We tried the carpacio, which was superb. My entree was also superb (and made for wonderful leftovers). Will DEFINITELY go back!
