Caught a show at the Belk Theater and headed over to Sophia’s Lounge after. It was the perfect way to end the evening.
The lounge was a whole vibe—the decor and atmosphere created such a pleasant, upscale energy. Even for a late Saturday night, it was busy but didn’t feel overcrowded. We only had about a seven-minute wait at the door.
The staff, from the host to the waitresses, were incredibly pleasant. I especially loved the “unconventional” aesthetic of the furniture; nothing technically matches, yet it all flows together perfectly.
We sampled a bit of everything:
Food: The Sophia’s Triple Sliders were delicious, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.
Dessert: The Cookie Skillet was a standout—absolutely delicious and a must-order.
Drinks: Sophia’s is known for their cocktails, but surprisingly, this was the least memorable part of the night for me. I can’t recall the name of the drink, but I did love that it was served in a copper mule mug.
As is typical for Uptown, it isn’t cheap, but it is well worth the visit. This is definitely on my list of places to return to!
She showed us to our table, and was quick to get us situated and get drinks on order.
Thing is about Sharon’s Lounge, it’s not a full restaurant, but has exquisite small bites…and most importantly, you feel like you are at home with a personal assistant getting you exactly what you want. I would give the atmosphere a perfect 10, gotta check it out to understand the sense of home that you feel, the service was another perfect 10; couldn’t ask for anything else. The food we ordered was also very good. Portions were in order, quality of the cheese, meats, fish were all perfectly fresh. Look at the pictures, judge for yourself. Also, if you didn’t want to park, they also offered a valet service which was perfect as well.
Updated Christmas holiday decorations and video…gotta try this place before heading to the Carolina Theatre.
We finally got our orders taken and it was a nice wait for them to arrive. We never received silverware from the actual server and when we asked the person that brought the food out, they did not seem too happy with the request for some. My steak arrived before my boyfriend’s sliders. My steak was very seasoned, the cook was to be medium. Out of the two steaks, only one was the actual temp. Fries were good. For our drinks I got the espresso martini and he got the Long Island. I will say that Long Island was extremely refreshing and you could tell it was in house sweet and sour, but my Espresso martini fell short. Very underwhelming, barely taste the coffee and it fell flat for me. The sliders were okay for me, I wasn’t a huge fan of the bacon jam but my boyfriend liked it. The price in the end did not match the experience.
The staff, though, was incredible. Jasmine, David, Anthony, and Pete were running around, making sure everyone felt cared for. They apologized repeatedly for the delays, checking on us constantly. Their dedication was the highlight. I truly hope management follows their lead—because they’re what make Sophia’s special.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

We stopped by for drinks on a Saturday night, and the experience was fantastic. The service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We tried a bourbon and a whiskey-based cocktail, both well-crafted and enjoyable.
Overall, it’s a great spot for a relaxed yet stylish night out. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a chic lounge with great drinks and ambiance!
