The food was phenomenal!! I had not eaten Chinese food since 2023 when I visited New York City and ate at Lillie and Loo and this is much better with bigger portions. I am thrilled that this is only a two hour drive from me. Finding asian food that is GF is difficult, but this is just good no matter the alteration!! My husband was floored at how good it was and we are already planning our next visit.
** UPDATE**
I have now eaten here more than half a dozen times and it has been excellent every. single. time. I highly recommend this place and I have taken friends who also loved it.
Price is not cheap, but it worths if you are craving for authentic Hong Kong style dishes.
We as Hongkonger love it so much ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️
Pros:
The food was good. We ordered the Beef and Broccoli and the General Tso’s Chicken, and both dishes were tasty with generous portion sizes.
The location is very convenient for us since it’s in East Cobb/Marietta, just minutes from our home.
Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes.
The restaurant wasn’t crowded and seems to focus mostly on delivery and takeout, as we saw several delivery drivers coming in and out.
Cons:
Since this was date night, we were hoping for a quiet, relaxed dining experience. While we didn’t expect constant attention, we did expect basic check-ins like water refills.
Instead, we felt uncomfortably watched the entire time by two men and the waitress. It made us feel rushed and unwelcome, as if they wanted us to leave as soon as possible.
To make matters worse, after we paid, one of the men abruptly snatched the bill from the table, which felt extremely rude.
Because of the uncomfortable service experience, we won’t be returning, despite enjoying the food.
As a Hong Konger, I usually stick to my usual Chinese restaurants like Canton Cooks, Bobo Garden, and Canton House (dim sum). However, I needed an option for my partner, who is celiac and requires any restaurant we go to to be free of cross-contamination.
The restaurant is located in a strip mall with ample parking. The exterior sign is worn, but don’t let that deter you from experiencing authentic Hong Kong dishes!
Chinese chess (象棋) art installations adorn the walls on one side of the restaurant.
We arrived for dinner and were pleasantly surprised to find no wait. There were probably four other parties seated. Our waiter(s) were quick to take our beverage order and walked us through the menu, explaining which dishes could be made gluten-free.
We ordered 乾炒牛河 (Beef Chow Fun, flat noodles), 咕嚕雞 (the traditional version of Sweet & Sour Chicken), and a plate of 白菜 (Bok Choy). Each dish came with a bowl of rice, except for the noodle dish. My partner’s gluten-free dishes were clearly marked with “gluten free” skewers. The portions were generous, and I had leftovers for the following day. My partner was not glutened and thoroughly enjoyed his dishes!
The dishes we tried were delicious and reminded me of home.
We’re planning to return soon with the family.
