Love this bakery! Delicious, high quality, and wholesome. Highly recommend! Where else can you get matcha cactus sugar cookies or a seasonal rose cardamom latte? Also love their grilled cheese and breakfast sandwich, and their menu has great “Beegan” and vegan options.

Small intimate bakery with locally grown ingredients. Fabulous breakfast and lunch unique, specialty sandwiches and bakery items. Grilled cheese with caramelized onions grilled to perfection. The Southwestern Beanz on toast had my tastebuds tingling with flavor. A definite must try! The experience was worth our detour!!

Tumbleweed Bakery is absolutely wonderful! We had the opportunity to meet one of the co-owners, and his passion for the company, employees, and community is truly inspiring. You can taste that love and care in every pastry. Definitely a must-stop spot to enjoy a bite!

One of the best coffee shops and bakeries in the Valley! They use local ingredients and sustainable packaging, sell local art and handmade lotions, salves, and skincare (@salixandhareherbals ).

☕️The latte was top tier, complete with beautiful latte art. You gotta see their steampunk bar in action!
The toasted focaccia with dipping oil is delicious! The flour is milled on site using local organic grains from across the Valley.

Highly recommend the Blazey Cat Pantry (Tumbleweed Bread)!

This place a a total gem!! Locally sourced organic ingredients, grown in the valley, milled in the valley, and baked by the incredibly committed crew that makes tumbleweed bread such an inviting and welcoming place. 10/10 Google can’t have enough stars for this place! Not only worth going to, but worth going out of your way for.

We had stopped in right before they closed (2mins) before sorry ladies.
We bought bread as well as grilled cheese sandwiches (the best I’ve had) the ladies were very pleasant and sweet. If I’m in the area again I will be stopping in. Great service and food

What a gem in the SLV. Absolutely yummy wholesome food (& the best bread) made with care and it shows, both in the food and the place! Excellent locally roasted coffee beans here too. Tandoori Bean Pocket on Fridays/Saturdays is one of the best things I’ve eaten. Cookies are exactly the way I love them— flavorful and not just sickly sweet. Can’t wait to make my way through the whole menu!

Excellent, unique food! We had the grilled cheese with mushrooms, and the southwest beans on toast, as well as a latte. All were delicious. The whole-grain sourdough bread was flavorful and filling. Friendly service. Vegan options. Interesting, yummy cookies too. Both bathrooms are any gender, and marked as such (and very clean). Fun, colorful wall mural of the San Luis valley. Room temp was comfortably warm. We’ll definitely visit again!

I’ve been a fan of their delicious and nutrient-dense bread for many years, but only recently discovered their retail location in Monte Vista.
I was delighted to find a variety of menu offerings made from the same heirloom whole grain flours that make their breads taste so amazing. I was lucky enough to arrive in time to get their Brownie Big Boy cookies fresh out of the oven. What chocolatey divine goodness. They also have savory and many vegan offerings that I can’t wait to try.
The staff were all very friendly and the space was clean and made for a comfortable visit; all making for a wonderful experience.
This will now become part of my itinerary every time I drive through the San Luis Valley.
