Tavernonna surprised me. I was a little hesitant for dinner as it never seems too busy and I’ve heard mixed reviews but we had a wonderful dinner. They do seem a little short handed, and they were out of 2 items and Gouda cheese, but our waiter (Roger) was very pleasant and attentive. We ordered the Italian bread, arancini alla carbonara (amazzzzing), arrabbiata squid ink pasta, and chicken piccata.

The breakfast is super good! I ordered an omelet made with 4 eggs, and you can add the ingredients of your choice. It came with delicious potatoes, and as a side I got fruit, which had a nice variety and was really fresh—for only $2.99. So it can be light or hearty, depending on the kind of breakfast you want. The service is good too.

The Valentine’s Day menu was not very good. Our server was extremely soft spoken and not helpful when we asked questions. They do not know how to cook a steak medium rare and they over cooked our lobster to the point it was very hard. Maybe it’s better on other days, but I do not suggest going there on Valentine’s Day.

Really a big disappointment. Not very busy but clearly understaffed- I waited almost 15 minutes for her to come back to take my order – almost half of the menu was not available- settled on the Carbonara – after waiting another 45 minutes I asked for it to go… not much flavour- a big disappointment

I would highly recommend this place if you’re in the area. The staff is friendly and attentive. The arancini was to die for and the overall atmosphere was classy and comfortable. I will definitely be coming back.

We had breakfast here. Fantastic! Scrambled eggs were perfect. The coffee was lack later. Like warm and tasted like overpriced chain barista coffee. Otherwise very good, recommended. Would definitely dine here again.

I ate breakfast here one morning as I stayed at Hotel Phillips. It was very convenient to be able to go downstairs at the hotel and eat. The service was good but the pictures of the place online make it look a lot more appealing than it is. It’s pretty plain, as is the food. No razzle-dazzle and it was average at best. I don’t know if I would do breakfast again, but I might try a different meal to see if it is any better. The hotel and restaurant are in a great location though, in downtown Kansas City.

The service was terrible. The waiter seemed to just didn’t care at all. We ordered items that never came. We never got a refill on water. No ice in the “iced”tea. We were never checked on after the food came, and had to find them for our check and an again to get it ur card back. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!! The service was so incredibly poor, though.
Likely will not go back, but I highly recommend the chefs cognac sauce should you give it a go. Hope your experience is better that ours was.

The chef took pity on us ladies from NC and made simply delicious meals for us. The favors were so incredibly yummy! My Strawberry Burrata Salad was the best salad I’ve had. Everyone devoured their meals but had some to keep for a late night snack.

Poor service, sometimes a bit of attitude. Food was good, but not up to what I expected for the level of hotel.

Getting a refill of coffee is difficult.

One bright server was Ryan. Super kind, pleasant, and helpful. They were short staffed during his shift, but he told us that up front. The other day’s seemed staffed , but just slow or didn’t care. We ate there three days in a row. Saturday with Ryan was the only good day in my opinion
