A great steak option, provided with excellent service in a classy-casual environment depicting farm-themed decor that creates a feeling of elegance. Had the ribeye and thoroughly enjoyed it. Super tender, nicely seasoned, and cooked perfectly to a “rare-push” doneness, as requested. Impressive. Various upgrade options for sauces, onions, and other things available. Roasted chicken was also a winner. Creme brulee caramelized at the table was a fitting finish for the meal. I’ll be happy to return anytime when in the area. Paid street parking from 8am-6pm ($2.25/hr) with additional paid parking in a large nearby structure.

Tried the lamb rack and ribeye. Lamb was a little chewy and tough, still good but probably wouldn’t pay $39 for it. Ribeye was good and cooked to perfection, good seasoning and sauce. Sides were absolutely fire. Mashed potatoe was good and asparagus was amazing.

We went here for my mom’s birthday! Service was great and they were very quick. The steak and pork were so flavorful. They also gave us a birthday sundae, which had a tasty whipped cream topping. We had a wonderful time here!

We had a delicious experience! The steaks were cooked and seasoned to perfection! We had the cheese curd appetizer which was very good. We had the mushroom and asparagus sides with our cuts of beef. I would without hesitation recommend Iowa Chop House and return myself if I’m ever back on Iowa City. This was the highlight of our trip to Iowa City.

Great service! Sides are big portions and are charged separately. I would say this place is better enjoyed if you go with a group. Food was good.

The Iowa Chophouse was recommended to us and had good reviews so we gave it a shot. I ordered a nice glass of red wine and we got the sweet bacon appetizer, which was decadent! A bit too sweet for my taste, so I probably wouldn’t get it again. We split a side of asparagus and a delicious Ribeye. I may have gotten a side salad, but I honestly can’t remember, so, forgettable. The asparagus came out on a separate plate and was properly cooked and tasty, but a couple of pieces still were a bit tough on the ends. The steak came out on it’s own plate as well, no garnish, just the steak. I think it came with some kind of compound butter in a separate container. We had to ask for an extra plate. The steak was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! The decor of the restaurant was not what I was expecting. It was furnished more like a bar than a fancy steakhouse, but bright and cheery. The staff were all attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant, something hard to find these days. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a fancy date, but if you want to spend a little more for a good dinner, pay them a visit.

This was our Valentine’s dinner this year and it was a great choice! Staff were attentive and kind, service was prompt and our drinks were never empty. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked. Looked and tasted amazing. The place was packed for a good reason. We will be back!

In town for University of Iowa orientation and found this establishment on Google maps. Making reservations were easy and when we arrived staff was very friendly. Place was very clean, not too crowded on a Sunday night and food was very good. We tried the cheese curds. They were great, just wish portion was a bit larger. I ordered the burger and it was one of the best I have ever had. I loved their beer choices. We also ordered their sliders and they were fantastic.
