Been meaning to give Comfort kitchen a try for months and finally found the opportunity to do so on my birthday with my lady. Every dish & both mocktails were delicious. The Prawn Currry, Jerk Duck Drumettes, Jerk jackfruit sliders & Goat Ragu + Cassava Gnudi were all prime dishes.

Update: So good had to go back for Brunch & that might have been even better!

Honestly one of the best food experiences I’ve had in a LONG time. Fusion cuisine often gets a bad rap but Comfort Kitchen’s entire menu (or at least the things we got) were all artfully conceptualized and masterfully executed. The jerk duck is now served as drummettes as an appetizer rather than an entree, and it is fall off the bone tender and seasoned aggressively but intentionally. Would highly recommend it, and a squirt of the lime on the side makes the dish incredible. Absolutely must-order. The tea brined pork chop was extremely succulent, not dry at all. Couldn’t really taste tea in the pork but the accoutrement on the plate were all intensely flavored and very good. Also highly recommend the fish chowder. The shrimp, clams, and mussels were all cooked perfectly, which is much appreciated – nothing worse than overcooked seafood in stew. My only regret is not saving room for dessert. Another time I guess.

I’m really torn on this place. I loved the vibe and the flavors were fantastic, but several parts of the experience just fell short.

The atmosphere is a definite win. The decor is cozy and stylish, the service was prompt and friendly, and we loved the historical details on the menu—a really nice touch.
When it came to the food, they absolutely nailed the flavors. The sauces were brilliant and everything was well-seasoned. The jerk duck was the star of the show—incredibly tender—and the Nepali chai was perfectly spiced and delicious.

The problem was that for most dishes, the textures were completely off. The pork chop was dry, the beef was tough, and the roasted okra was soggy instead of crisp. Adding to the frustration was our table. Our group of four was squeezed into a tiny corner with barely enough room to eat comfortably, which made sharing an awkward experience.

For the price, I just expected more consistency. I really wanted to love this place, and maybe we just caught them on a bad night, but I’d be hesitant to go back.

We love Comfort Kitchen. We were here for dinner before and loved it and decided to try out the brunch menu. The waffles were rich and interesting. They made us stew without eggs, which was amazing. The chai was great and we loved the mustang aaloo! Overall a great place, service was good and ambience is amazing and calm.

My partner and I went here for our 5th anniversary and had an amazing time! The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The drinks were fantastic. I would highly recommend Dream Street and Put that on Everything. I would order those again 100 times over. Our waiter warned us the food was spice forward and said they could accommodate a lower spice level if needed which was very nice to offer. My partner and I can handle spice so we respectfully declined. We shared the okra, jackfruit sliders and yuca fries to start. I am still thinking about the okra and jackfruit sliders. The flavor was dimensional and the jackfruit sliders were perfectly spicy and sweet. The yuca fries were pretty good but I have preference for sauce on the side rather than over fries and I know to ask for that next time. For our mains our waiter suggested the jerk duck and my partner said she doesn’t usually order duck but this was one of the best duck dishes she’s ever had. It fell off the bone and the flavor was incredible. I got the cauliflower and it was pretty good and definitely a lot of cauliflower. Like a half a head of cauliflower. I loved the smokiness and the spice. I’m not sure that I would order it again but that’s just personal preference. I loved the vibe of this restaurant. It’s the perfect date night place and honestly any occasion going out. Overall, Comfort Kitchen was one of my partner and I’s favorite dinners we have had this year and we look forward to returning in the near future!

Our dining club of nine had dinner at Comfort Kitchen and, unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the price. We were charged $765 total (including tax and tip) for a pre-set group meal that included three eggplant entrées at $75 each, three pork entrées at $85 each, and three fish chowders at $95 each, plus a few shared appetizers and dessert.

When we did the math afterward, ordering the same items à la carte would have cost about $615 total with tax and gratuity—around $150 less for the same food. Portions were very small: only two plates each of beef, okra, and sliders to share among nine people, and for dessert we received half-size portions of mango ice cream (valued at $7 each).

We were also told there would be outdoor heat lamps, but there was only one for our entire group, which made the seating area uncomfortably chilly. In addition, one person’s pork dish was forgotten until we reminded our server, Avi, who said it had to be cooked fresh—but by then, most of us were already finished eating.

The flavors were excellent, but the portions, pacing, and setup didn’t justify the cost. If you’re organizing a group dinner here, make sure to coordinate in advance—ask exactly how many plates of each appetizer will be served, confirm the outdoor setup, and do the math ahead of time so everyone gets fair value.

I enjoyed brunch and would like to return for dinner. The shrimp and grits was flavorful. It was not super heavy and greasy like most places that serve shrimp and grits. The bunt cake was soooo good.

A Unique and Vibrant Dining Experience

This restaurant stands out for its creative starters and cocktails, which were truly exceptional—each dish and drink brought a unique twist that delighted the senses. While the main courses were enjoyable, they didn’t quite reach the same level of innovation and flavor as the appetizers.

The atmosphere, however, is where this place shines!! Great music, vibrant energy, and welcoming crowd create a fantastic ambiance that makes the entire experience memorable.

Overall, this restaurant offers something genuinely different from the typical Boston dining scene. Its inventive menu and lively setting make it well worth a visit—especially if you’re looking to explore flavors and vibes outside the norm.

Hands down my absolute favorite restaurant in all of Massachusetts. If you’re visiting Boston, this tucked away gem is a must visit dinner stop. Everything on the menu is fantastic – both food and cocktails.

One of my favorite places in Boston! From the first welcome by the hostess, all the way to the last goodbye this place is infused with care, love and soul. Everything on the menu is exceptional and exciting. Unusual flavors blend masterfully with each bite, in a comforting way indeed. There is no feeling of heaviness or bodily discomfort afterwards, which is especially pleasant during warm summer nights.
I’ve been here three times this month only, and can’t wait to return!
