Stopped in today and had an amazing experience at Marcey’s Mexican Food. The staff was incredibly friendly and gave us great recommendations. We tried the quesabirria tacos and the elote, and both were absolutely fantastic.

The quesabirria tacos were packed with flavorful, tender meat and perfectly melted cheese, and the consommé really took them to the next level. The elote was fresh, delicious, and perfectly seasoned.

Everything tasted freshly made, and the restaurant itself was clean and welcoming. It’s always a great sign when locals are coming in and out while you’re there.

If you’re near Mission Beach and craving authentic Mexican food, this spot is definitely worth stopping by. We’ll definitely be back!

Right by the beach with a cute outdoor seating area. The service and food was so excellent. I had cheese enchiladas and they tasted like enchiladas I had as a kid at a restaurant that no longer exists. It was very nostalgic. If you want traditional Mexican food I would stop in!

First time in San Diego and checked out this taco shop! And it did not disappoint!!! Marcy was friendly and helpful when taking my family’s order. Annnnnnnd the food was absolutely amazing!!!!!!! And she was taking orders and cooking the food, solo!!!! All the ingredients were fresh and definitely gave a nostalgic feeling of being back at my abuela’s house growing up. Clean, great customer service, and some of the best damn Mexican food I’ve had! Check out this gem if you’re in San Diego!!!!!!

The best taco shop!!!!!!! Near Ventura
Cove!!!! There’s one right by it that will claim to be the best but MARCY’S Taco Shop is truly the best from experience. So good. The meat is so tender and everything else about it is exactly what you’re looking for. I get the regular tacos with guac and pico. Always a 10/10!

Mom and pop type shop. Our party tried several different items and they were all good. I had the quesabirria tacos (photo), so good, and filling. Wouldn’t hesitate eating here again if I was nearby.

As a British woman who lives in Canada, my experience with Mexican food is limited and I have never experienced genuine local Mexican cuisine. Tonight, on my honeymoon in San Diego, both my stomach and heart were filled with the delicious food at Marcy’s. And the conversations I had with the cook and server were filled with laughter which made the experience one I will not forget. I even got a wedding present of Street Corn – corn covered in cheese and spices that was so delicious it blew my mind. Cannot recommend enough!!!

Excellent quality food We had the Spicy California burrito as a plate with rice and beans. Big enough for 2 to share. Nice flavor, good steak and fries to boot! Beans were freshly cooked. Ask for extra spicy red salsa, it has a good flavor and medium heat. I wish they had habanero salsa! But this was good. Not much seating, but it’s good for on the go. Close to the beach too.

Can never go wrong with the fish tacos here. The roller coaster is directly across the street, however, so just be mindful of that if you’re noise-sensitive.

The food itself is okay besides the pancakes which are PHENOMENAL!!!! They were the perfect fluff and thickness. But the best thing overall is the experience and the customer service of the owner. She is such a hard worker and very helpful and sweet. Based on the pancakes and customer service alone this is a 5 star place! Oh and the corn was good too

There was a hair in my food and the manager stated that everyone knows that Menudo may or may not come with animal hair in it. We got so disgusted we couldn’t continue eating our tacos and she would not give us a refund or make us a new order so we could feel better about eating it. She had an attitude right away and came around the corner and came right up to my face screaming about how animal hair is normal in Mexican food. We left our food and everything there and just left. Before that, we stood there for a few minutes with no greetings and cashier had an attitude. When I asked her for an extra spoon before we noticed the hair she was huffing and puffing the whole way to the spoons and back. Poor service, poor quality food, dirty, employee communication with customers is very poor and don’t understand what you are asking for.
