When possible, we choose to support local establishments and this was a perfect choice. We were in the area on our sailboat and the Gecko Grill was an easy walk from the anchorage. Our server, Stephanie could not have been any more accommodating and friendly. Our orders came out quickly and the food was delicious. My husband had a cheeseburger and what looked like homemade chips-I snagged a couple-yum! My omelette was one of the best I’ve ever had and the side of fruit was great! Prices are very reasonable and we plan to stop by again sometime.

#77 I get asked frequently if there are any bad breakfast places. Honestly, there are very few and Island Gecko isn’t one of them. While it’s not a five star restaurant, it’s a very good option in the area. My omelet was solid, the hash browns were so-so. Service was outstanding.

Great spot for Sunday breakfast. Place was busy and very friendly staff.
We had an array of favorites and everything was good. Breakfast sandwiches, BLT and the country burrito. Yum. The grilled blueberry muffin was perfect, as was the hash…well done! Lots of coffee and great service too.

Solid breakfast and lunch spot in Merritt Island! Breakfast all day on Sun and breakfast and lunch all day every other day of the week. Lots of variety on both menus! The breakfast burrito is delicious (and huge!) and the Gecko Spots (tater tots) are hot and crispy! Their biscuits are some of the best in the area! Bright cheery atmosphere (despite the sad dying strip mall exterior), very friendly service, and definitely worth a stop if you are in the area!

Island Gecko Grill features regular specials, with staple breakfast and lunch platters and entrees. My ham, bacon, cheddar grilled cheese on wheat multigrain tasted incredible.
I saw many “regulars” entering the restaurant around lunch time, asking for their “usuals.” The diner gives off a vibe of comfort and familiarity. The wait staff are fast and friendly, and knew their regulars by name and preferences.
I will happily return to try more of their menu!

Great local diner. Breakfast today was biscuits and gravy with a side of hash browns. The wife got the breakfast burrito. Two coffees and water. Total bill $18.07+tip. Very reasonable pricing. The staff is friendly as evidenced by the large number of regulars called by name. Restrooms on this visit were clean. Restroom care is always a great barometer to overall cleanliness. They are doing a good job! Window blinds were mostly shut making the restaurant look closed. Almost didn’t stop. Glad I did. GoyoGTO recommends a try, let them know I influenced your decision. This is my second time at this wonderful establishment. It is truly a well-kept secret of the community. The staff is super friendly, and know their menu better than most other establishments. Our server, Kaissy, was very attentive even during the rush hours of this Sunday morning. Never letting a cup go empty without refill.
Their food is AMAZING, bacon is crisp and perfectly cooked, eggs made specifically to your liking without issue, and their HomeMade Cinnamon Rolls are a mouthwatering masterpiece like no other.
The only Con I could find in this sea of PROs was that the coffee was really bold and strong compared to other places, yet not so bad that it was undrinkable. A bit of cream and sugar fixed the issue!
With the amazing taste you’d expect a pretty pricetag to follow but to my surprise, all of their meals cost less than $10; like wow!! That Value is impeccable!
I haven’t tried their Lunch options on their brunch menu, but I’m sure those chefs perfect the lunch options just as well as these delicious breakfast options. I’ll give it a go next visit and review it as well!
To conclude, Island Gecko is by far the 10/10 in Value, Quality, and Staff Attentiveness and Friendliness. We have decided to come here every week on Sundays and maybe some weekdays as a regular breakfast location for myself, My friends, and my husband. They have more than proven their worth to my family and I’m sure they will for yours as well.
