This was the Old Hawaiian Place replaced my Abos Cocina. Guatemalan food is super good in my opinion. Fresh colorful food that is made to order. We ordered a Breakfast , a pupusas, a Guatemalan Enchilada which is a tostada with cabbage and beets and a chuchito which is a corn masa flavorful tamal. Everything we ordered was very good and fresh. The service was very friendly and the establishment looked very clean . Would definitely recommend to everyone.

We discovered Abos Cocina a month ago. We have returned three times since and we don’t often eat out. We had a family get together and we called several days ahead and asked if they could make us 45 Papusas for us. They took care of us and all raved about the food. We have had pupusas at locations from Fairfield and Vacaville and we traveled all the way to Vallejo because Abos Cocina makes the best Pupusas in our opinion. This family owned business gives great service, they make you feel at home.

Talk about a true hidden gem! I came in from out of town. I decided to try something different so I tried Abos Cocina. I had the Pollo Asada plate & was blown away! The chicken had incredible flavor. . The beans were probably the best I’ve ever had. The rice was also flavorful & full of fresh veggies. My kid tried the tacos & gave them two thumbs up as well.
A+ m, 5 stars
Give these guys a try!

We recently discovered this new Guatemalan place here in Vallejo. My wife, who is half Guatemalan, is excited to try it out. So I surprised her one evening when I ordered food to go. She said that it reminded her of home, and I believe that’s the best review any restaurant could hope for. We highly recommend this place

The food was pretty tasty. The rice and beans hit the spot. The steak was a little tough and dry, but the chicken was super juicy and tender, and the sausage was nice too. The banana slices were enjoyable to munch on.
For appetizers, I wasn’t sure what to choose, so I asked for suggestions and they pointed me to the garnachas, which were really good! I definitely recommend giving those a try!
There’s a lot of parking out back, and the staff is friendly and seems like cool people.
AI wrote this for me, but this is how I feel. Haha

We picked up an order to go. Fried chicken, rice, beans & some delicious mixed vegetables. Everything was great, the standout being the beans. They were the best I’ve ever tasted. One small negative was that the chicken was a little dry, but a dip in the fabulous salsa provided made it better. The tortillas were definitely a winner.

Such good food! So glad they opened a Guatemalan restaurant here. I had the garnachas (6 in a plate) and the estofado (a curry like with beef, rice and escaveche (beets, carrot and green beans with lemon taste)

Abo’s Cocina exceeded our expectations! My parents are very picky and particular when it comes to Central American food, but everything we ordered was delicious, presentable, and left us super satisfied. The Desayuno Finquero was a complete brunch meal with steak, plátanos, frijoles, arroz, eggs, and queso fresco. Their tortillas are thick and handmade just how we make at home. The chuchitos were the highlight of the meal, they’re tamales filled with pork and topped with salsa roja. We can’t wait to go back and try their churrasco platter and pupusas.
