Tried Mantra Indian Kitchen & Bar in Legaspi for a family dinner (8 of us, first time). We discovered them through good reviews and decided to give it a try.

I was a bit hesitant at first. In Manila, not all international restaurants taste authentic. I had a few questions before confirming even asked how they cook their naan Ms. Jenny was very accommodating, explained they have an Indian chef (Chef Viran) and patiently answered all my questions. That already gave me confidence.

Food was really good! The non-veg platter was juicy, daal tadka nicely spiced and the rogan josh had very soft, tender goat meat. Kulfi was the perfect ending. Ambiance feels warm and traditional, like you’re transported elsewhere for a while.

Pricing was reasonable for 8 pax considering the quality and portions. Overall, a very satisfying experience. We’ll definitely be back.

Thank you to the Mantra team and special thanks to Ms. Jenny for taking care of us.

Been wanting to try Mantra for the longest time! For 2 people, we ordered butter naan, cheese naan, butter tandoori roti, palak paneer, and chicken makhani.

We really enjoyed everything, especially the chicken makhani. It paired so well with the naans. The cheese naan was just okay, but everything else was fantastic!

Service was great too. The staff was attentive and the food came out fairly quickly. Would come back!

My workmates brought me here and the food was really amazing — definitely a place you’ll want to come back to! The servings are good for sharing, so it’s very budget-friendly. We ordered the Chicken Curry and Makhani. It was my first time trying Makhani, and I loved how creamy it was — perfect for the Filipino taste buds. Can’t wait to return and try more dishes!

I visited this place after a recommendation from a Filipino friend so I really wanted to like this place. I’ve been craving a decent curry for weeks while working in Asia. Unfortunately the service wasn’t great but food was worse. I had undercooked chicken (Hariyali) and under seasoned palak paneer curry. The sheek kebab and rice were nice. If you like Indian food and you’re from the UK you should skip your curry craving and maybe hit up some local food instead. I can only assume the positive reviews are from the hoards of Americans that visit. I eat Indian food for a living (4-5 times a week) and this is amongst the worst Indian food I’ve eaten.

I’ve been always a fan of Indian food, and trying out a good Indian restaurant in Makati is one of my lists. The ambiance of the place is really nice, it gives you a more modern romantic vibe than the Indian vibe itself. Food is a bit pricey too, based on the ingredients made. Overall, the staff is accommodating, and it’s not loud, it’s nice to dine here with friends or family.

❤️

Very good curry and naan bread. I would go back.

The rice was 250 per bowl though. I understand, Basmati is going to be a little more expensive and it’s a big portion of rice you get. It won’t be that expensive though.

The way I see it is, if both the curry and rice bowl are the same size and the curry is 380 while the rice is 250 there’s something wrong.

Being a vegetarian, it’s very difficult to find proper authentic Indian Restaurants in a foreign country but this place seems to fulfill all the checklists. One of the best place for genuinely authentic Indian Vegetarian Food. We visited the restaurant 3 times and everytime the food was beyond our expectations. Service is also very good. We requested them to make the food bit spicy and it was perfect. During our dine-ins, we have ordered Dal Makhani, Dal Tadka, Bhindi Do Pyaaza, Pinde Chole, Garlic Naan, Butter Tandoori Roti, Masala Papad, Fresh Lemonade, Fresh Watermelon Juice and Gulab Jamun. All these foods were properly cooked and were amazing in taste. It is also budget friendly as compared to the other restaurants. Food comes in good quantity sufficient for 2-3 people. They also offer complimentary roasted papads at the start. Will definitely recommend it for anyone looking to eat at a proper authentic Indian Restaurant.

Food was great overall, though somewhat pricey — some dishes were worth it while others were just okay. Street parking only, so good luck finding a spot. Dinner crowd was light when we went. Staff were friendly but sometimes slow to notice us. CR wasn’t very nice.

Superb.
When I arrived and the moment I smelled the food being placed on the table beside us, I know this place is authentic.
We enjoyed all of what we ordered, some of which were recommended by the attentive staff.
Love the location, it feels like a secret.
And the interior was pleasing as well.
