I’ve been coming to this hidden gem for years, and this review is overdue. Sushi is always very fresh. Kiso (white fish) tempura is very delicious. My other favorites are okonomiyaki, kumamoto (raw) oysters, grilled eel, and yellowtail and scallion roll.

They have a pretty awesome menu, but charge premium prices for very not premium food. The yellowtail jaw was good, but it was over cooked and should have been much better. The chutoro was extremely oxidized – I have never in my life been served chutoro that was so brown. If they cut prices by 50%, I would give more stars. For this price, I will eat elsewhere.

One of my top local restaurants. It is a small but adorable place and the staff is always attentive and very friendly. Highlights include the incredible Nabeyaki Udon noodle soup. Served in a clay pot with the tastiest broth ever. The kisu tempura is lovely and I have loved the sushi I have tried as well.

Good variety of ramen and excellent lunch combos.
My family loved the Tom Yum seafood ramen and oxtail soup. I tried and liked the shio ramen, miso ramen, salad, and chicken teriyaki. Service was friendly and fast. I’d be curious to try their desserts.

Comfort Japanese food. The Grilled fish was too mild without sauce. Ramen was average.

Very friendly service.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! They undoubtedly offer the best ramen in the area, and the creative desserts like the raindrop mochi are a must-try. The service was excellent, and the cozy atmosphere added to the overall dining experience. The only minor issue was that the seating was tight, and it was difficult to have a private conversation at my table. However, that didn’t take away from the overall experience, and I would love to go back and try more dishes.

What an awesome place to have nearby. I’m a big fan of traditional Japanese sushi – not the fried, mayo and sugar sauce coated creations so common now. If you also share a love for simple, clean sushi made with very high quality ingredients by a chef who respects tradition, go here! On top of it all they are super friendly and nice. Chef Tao came out and played with my daughter at one point which was great.

Update: after 6 months living in the area now, I’ve probably been here 15 times. It’s always good. It’s not the fanciest place, but it just feels comfy and welcoming, and the food is just awesome especially for the price. If you want great authentic Japanese food without all the fuss, come here!

I’ve been going to Maneki Neko for over 20 years (what a weird thing to say at 28!), grew up with it as my favorite restaurant, and now make a point to stop in for sushi every time I visit the area since moving out of state over 10 years ago. It is hands down the BEST sushi restaurant that I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to Japan!

Tao is one of the sweetest business owners I’ve ever met, and has made me special sushi dishes for my birthday and high school graduation over the years. I can’t recommend his restaurant enough!

Overall a mixed bag, with some great and some not so great dishes. The katsu curry was excellent. The curry had a good amount of meat in it (in addition to the katsu), which I thought was excessive- but the dish was still delicious. The sushi was not great. It did not seem very fresh. Texture was a little off. Pork belly appetizer was decent. I also had Tonkotsu ramen, which wasn’t on the menu, but our waitress said that they had it. It was pretty good. The noodles were outstanding, the chashu pork was above average, and the broth was ok- not great. Service was excellent, and the meal was enjoyable, but the food was hit and miss for me.

One of the best restaurants that I been to!
A cozy place with good service, clean and very yummy food.
We try California rolls and tempura ice cream the tempura was just ok too soft for my liking, I Like more crunchy, but the rest of the food was delicious.
The service was exceptional, except for a lady who helped us at the start, I told her that was our first time there and that we need time to check the menu, but she come every second to ask if we are ready. That irritated me cause I come to a restaurant to relax not to be rush by the server, then the young lady took our order and everything was fine. Everyone is nice there except that lady.
I would will back every time that I have a chance.
