So I prove myself wrong People! I thought this was the one Shipley that didn’t sell out! Well clearly i can now tell that they all have New owners . I wish that the recipe didnt have to change to their Food! Sucks because to me they were so good !

One of the better Shipley’s around, which most are pretty good. This one does really good kolaches especially. I’d probably give it 5 stars but the coffee is sometimes ok, sometimes not.
But I usually take the donuts home and have coffee at home anyway. Really excellent donut shop overall.

I just went into Shipley’s donuts on Brodie lane and was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the service!!! I should have asked him his name darn it, but the gentleman that helped me was just amazing! He was an older gentleman, I think Hispanic with glasses and he was just the kindest most warm-hearted person I have encountered in a while. It took me forever to pick out my one donut haha and he was just -I cannot express this enough- so kind, patient, sincere and warm, he was just such a wonderful human being I walked away just in awe of how much love I felt in those few short minutes. He honestly inspired me, as I climbed into my car I told my canine passenger “it’s gonna be a real good day today Lucy! I can feel it!” And not just him, but the buzz of the busy donut shop at 8 am, It was a very happy and productive vibe. The whole place just felt good!

I’m new to Austin and donuts are such a THING here. There are lots of pretentious, expensive donuts around, but Shipley’s is one of those that’s reliably good, fair priced, donuts for everybody! It doesn’t have to be over the top. They always have a great selection. The donuts don’t keep very long. That’s how you know they’re fresh and not full of even more junk. It’s still a donut, after all. I put the box of leftovers in the microwave with a damp paper towel so I can keep them soft for another day.

Update!! 12/06. The success of any business is directly tied to its employees. That said this store has ALWAYS exceeded my expectations with their smiles and “Good Mornings!!” And attention to detail. Great job Guys! What a treasure this store has become in South Austin. And now into its 19th year. Congrats!!

The products, especially the coffee and my favorite Old Fashioned cinnamon roll, never disappoint. Update!!! Every single time I visit this location I’m impressed. The donuts I purchased today were in point, with the filled donuts filled with just enough filling and the iced donuts tasting like the way icing should taste. Anyone who says differently must be having one bad day.

The employee working at the register around 11 a.m. on 09/20/25 (wearing a white T-shirt and glasses) was very unprofessional during my visit. When we were deciding which donuts to order, the signage did not match the items displayed. Instead of helping clarify, she dismissively told us that those weren’t the correct names. She spoke to us in a short, unfriendly manner, without greeting or smiling, which made the interaction uncomfortable.
While she did attempt to be polite when handing us the receipt, her attitude quickly shifted again once she saw the tip amount. She grabbed the receipt and crumpled it in a way that came across as rude and unprofessional.
I strongly feel this employee would benefit from additional customer service training, as her behavior left a very negative impression.

I recently visited your drive-thru and had a disappointing experience with the staff member working that shift. Not only was I rushed to place my order, but after I paid and left a tip on the receipt, the employee took the receipt and shut the window without saying “thank you” or “have a good day”… I’m not the only one who has experienced this; a quick look at your reviews reveals multiple customers mentioning the same rude behavior from this same lady.

I like this Shipley’s because it’s like back in the sixties when I was a kid living in Houston area. The food is perfect and delicious. The service is the best ever great atmosphere. Love it!!
