I just visited this weekend for the first time since the reopen. And I have to say I’m very impressed with What the new owner Angie has done with the remodel. The atmosphere is amazing and the food is spot on! Best Korean food and sushi I’ve had in San Antonio! All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Every time I eat here I’m always disappointed. Sushi rice felt so soggy and I had picked up my sushi right away considering I live extremely close to this place. This place is a solid 6 at that.. it doesn’t taste fresh and it’s just meh. I think there’s way better options in stone oak such as Sake and Sushi Zushi. I wish they would open up a better sushi spot here. This will definitely be the last time I ever give this place a try, I always end up regretting it.

I wish I could give a higher rating than five stars. Sushi Express is a fantastic establishment with amazing food, service, and atmosphere. The fish is very high quality and the portions are generous. I always have a wonderful time! The staff is very kind and engaging with the customers, the chefs are always on point, and the owners Angie and Dan are awesome people! I usually sit at the sushi bar across from the chef, Chris, and he does not disappoint. Ask him to make you his signature role for a flavor adventure. On top of all that, I go quite regularly and it is always at the same standard of awesomeness on all fronts. Please go here! Sushi Express should be recognized among the finest restaurants in San Antonio, even Texas.

Everything is delicious, fresh and made when you order. Not a long wait either just trust me you will NOT be disappointed or have to go anywhere else. You’ll love the owner Angie and all of the staff are respectful, friendly and very polite. If you have no idea what to try or order, you can ask for their help that’s if you’re open to trying new things like I was. Angie took care of me and I never went anywhere else. I’ve tired the ribs, shrimp rolls, cucumber rolls, spicy edamame, their rolls that have dairy too ohhh so good, tuna rolls always trying something new and on the spot. Since then I fell in love with Angie’s Korean dishes, her personality and of course sushi. I never had sushi before. Ever! You’ll love it! Now I’m hooked but I only have it here.

I’ve been coming here for several years. The ownership changed recently but I’m pleased that the Korean Dolsot Bibimbap (Stone Pot Bibimbap) tastes the same and is wonderful! Great kimchi! I lived in Korea for 2 years and this food definitely meets the mark! The owner was very friendly and asked how our food was. We appreciated that.

After 3 months of absence, my husband and I went to have lunch this weekend to what it used to be my favorite restaurant and we were surprised to see the place really beautiful and upgraded, didn’t know it had changed management. It looks really cool!
Sadly, the decoration doesn’t translate the same for the food.
We ordered the same favorites we always order and we were disappointed. The rice texture was crunchy almost like not fully cooked, the flavors were different and not to what we were used to before this change. And the food took more than 30 minutes to be ready and we were the only ones there at opening time. We ordered 3 raw fish rolls.
My daughter’s order got messed up 2 times until finally we decided to just let her have whatever they gave us to not make her wait even longer. We had ordered a chicken cutlet from the kids menu, the waitress first brought us fish cutlets, then she brought chicken nuggets….
On our way out, my husband checked for reviews and sadly they all agree with me, the place looks really beautiful but the flavors are blend and the service took very long.

Myself and three others visited the Sushi Express full service restaurant at 19903 Stone Oak Parkway for the very first time yesterday evening. Angie is the new owner which she stopped by our table several times to check on us. We were very impressed from the beginning of our visit to the very end. The restaurant was very clean, organized, great atmosphere, and had impeccable service by our server Faith, and an employee named Luke who helped out on the floor and with to-go orders. The food was outstanding from the appetizers our table ordered as well as our entrées which everything was reasonably priced. I highly recommend the Pot Stickers, the beef and Pork Bulgogi, Magaldi short ribs, Gyoza soup, and sushi rolls. Please visit this restaurant whether it’s for lunch or dinner and I assure you will leave happy and return again for repeat visits.

I travel quite often for work and have had many sushi/Korean restaurants… Haven’t been here since ownership changed. Must say I’ve been impressed by the quality of the food and service. Usually when ownership changes there is a window of disconnect between the customers… especially regulars which I am not, however I have previously dined here before… with that mentioned, I would recommend trying the Korean food for sure and the sushi is great too. 5/5 from me.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Sushi Express and cannot recommend it enough. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and the owner Angie personally greeted us. We had an assortment of sushi and Korean dishes. The cucumber kimchi was bright and delicious, my favorite. If you’re a sushi lover like my kids are, they had so much to choose from. We will be coming back soon!

I’ve been going to Sushi Express for years and I always get the spicy squid (not mild). Every time I have gotten it, it’s been so enjoyable to eat. It’s never been too spicy and has had a hint of sweetness to it. I ordered two orders of them today to go as I always do and the portions are now smaller compared to how much bigger they were in the past (they now serve it in a small Tupperware bowl). And did the recipe change? It was so spicy that I couldn’t even enjoy it. This was not worth the $40+ I spent on dinner.
