I’ve driven by Belly Deli so many times and finally decided to stop in, and I’m so glad I did! With gluten-free options available, I immediately felt right at home. Best deli in the county! Love the grab and go (in house) roasted turkey, cheese and fresh pesto on a perfect baguette !! The banh mi sandwich is another favorite-the choices are vast, with everything made from top notch ingredients. I’m also in love with all the specialty items, as well as the treats. They also have in-house made soups, I saw one of the chefs preparing potatoes and fresh corn off the cob for a soup I’m looking forward to trying.
There’s a huge selection of beverages-beer and wine included. Lots of great seating to relax and enjoy!
Also, they have a new grill they were readying for some outside barbecuing-whatt?! Yes, please!

WOW! What a great delicatessen! The sandwich I had, smoked turkey and pastrami on sourdough was Amazing! The ingredients were as fresh as could be, and the bread was incredible! The sandwich was put together just as I asked…It was perfect! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

I’ve given Belly multiple chances, at least four times, but each visit has been a letdown.
The sandwiches are consistently underwhelming with skimpy fillings, soggy bread, and a lack of care in how they are put together. For the premium prices they charge, the quality just is not there. I ordered a gluten free sandwich for my partner, and at over twenty dollars, it was such a disappointment she ended up tossing it in the trash.
I really was rooting for this place, especially given the turnover of businesses in this location, but it is clear the owner does not know how to run a deli. I predict, like the restaurants that came before it, Belly Deli will soon be out of business.

Best deli sandwich I’ve had in a long time. I grew up in San Rafael and can remember going to Belly Deli back in the day, and the new owner is knocking it out of park. I just got a roast beef and cheddar on ciabatta, and the quality of the bread and ingredients were fantastic, the portion size was generous, and price was appropriate. Well done! Can’t wait to go back

Looks like a new deli in San Rafael town. We were just passing through on bikes. Service was fast: we needed to catch the 1:08 northbound SMART Train. The food was great. What stands out is the freshness of the bread and veggies. I had the Californian: tasty sliced turkey, avocado, lettuce, and tomato. So good, I cannot think of how I might improve it.

Our non profit was holding a mid-sized event for donors and the catering fell through at the last minute. When I called Belly Deli, Kelly Phu said no problem and provided our boxed lunches the morning of the event as promised.
