Had an amazing dinner at Mambo Seafood – Brooks City Base! The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent.
I ordered the grilled red snapper served with salad, roll, and their famous Mambo Special Fried Rice packed with shrimp, pork, and chicken — everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The rice had that smoky, savory flavor that stands out.
I also tried the shrimp, fish & octopus soup, shrimp empanadas, and two drinks — the Strawberry Margarita and Mango Lava (frozen mango drink). Everything came out quickly and tasted fantastic.
The restaurant is bright, clean, and colorful with a fun, family-friendly vibe. Staff were friendly and attentive, and prices were very reasonable for the quality and portions. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in San Antonio — it’s a local favorite for a reason!

This place is awsome, I don’t know why the bad reviews. Everything was fresh and delicious . I ordered the calamari, fish plate with golden shrimp. Super good. The giant plate of there famous rice was good for the kids. Although they do love spicy food. And the skinny margarita was to die for, excellent not to over powering. There xmas pomegranate drink also superb comes with an ornament. Will definitely return when craving sea food. Plenty of fruity drinks for the lady’s. The Mongo nada margarita again not overly sweet just perfect.Went back again for the noche buena drink.

Very friendly service. Bar available. I ordered the salmon with Mambo rice and veggies. Salmon was done perfectly. The Mambo rice was delicious, and the veggies were good. The elote was as good as I’ve gotten in Mexico. My husband had the Mambo rice with shrimp, chicken, and pork. He got the regular size – bring your appetite as it’s big! He said his meal was delicious.

Why can’t I give more than a five star rating? Ok so let’s get into it … I ordered the grilled octopus with my sides being the street corn and a side salad…I don’t know what my friend ordered TBH but he liked it First off, the octopus was cooked to perfection. It wasn’t super chewy, which is what I expect from most places. I ate so much I had to pee… Twice… No alcohol involved…I swear! Now… The most important part… BRANDON!!! Please come forward, sir… This man… This man right HERE y’all…. I hope this company gives bonuses to their servers (we all know there’s no raises for a server at most places)… Or a promotion or something because THIS MAN RIGHT HEREEEE… He went above and beyond the call or duty!!!! Not just the service during the meal .. But even ***AFTER***… Like, WHO DOES THAT?? BRANDON DOES!! YASSSSS!!! Love me some Brandon!! The manager also checked on us and was very pleasant (sorry that was your five seconds of fame, I’m here to hype Brandon up)… That being said ..I SHALL return and I will be demanding to see Mr. Brandon and all his fabulousness again … Oh yeah, the place is super clean, too Thank y’all so much for a wonderful night!! I really loved the service & atmosphere. The sea food boils are not their forte!
We order 2 seafood boils plus a cluster- I can say it tasted ok like it was from frozen and not fresh. The color was off(overcooked) my potatoes were underdone, the corn was great and the shrimp was delicious. We also ordered the bacon wrap shrimp which was delicious.
As with any of my reviews I will be back & change my reviews as needed.
Atmosphere is great enjoyable music not so loud I can’t hear my friends. Clean, and the staff was great! E

My husband and I really enjoy dining in here at Mambo Seafood Restaurant.We travel from Seguin.Their food is great!Our favorite dish is the regular fried rice.We just can’t get enough of it.We always have great service.

This is usually a good place; however, they were not ready for the lent crowd this Friday night.
My table, and a neighboring table, were treated to a long dinner experience because no one came to our table for an extended amount of time. We were seated at 6, and they a few minutes before. Patience is a virtue, but 40 minutes was enough time to push us to get up and hail a manager to start our order and bring us some drinks. Right when we were about to get going, the manager showed up with the bill and our orders and asked, are you sure you want to leave?”. In the end, we left at 830. 2.5 hours of sitting with family where we could talk is nice, but that is when you are sharing a meal, not waiting forty minutes for drinks, thirty minutes for an appetizer, plus thirty more our meals, and twenty odd minutes waiting to close out as the manager took that long to process the payment… We were just there one week prior for the 1st Friday of Lent and figured we’d bring family to share the good food and good service, but that did not happen.
