The server was excellent, professional and polite. He saved the evening to be honest. I came for my birthday dinner after frequenting the midtown location. I did the Moet experience. The food was chewy and felt very generic and something you put in the microwave. Not the quality and standard I experienced at their flagship location. The ambiance was their usual esthetic. You can tell it’s connected to hotel by the diverse demographics. I enjoyed my champagne and photos. That’s all I am afraid this location could offer me. Lastly, the hostess was a little unprofessional when looking for our reservation and I too wanted to know what was so funny about my sister’s name and the reservation made. It was off-putting to say the least but our lovely server saved the experience as far as staff and the quality & professional service rendered. Maybe it was the time, I may give it another try before writing this location off completely. ‍♀️

Another flawless visit to Philippe Chow Downtown. From the moment you walk in, the attention to detail is obvious. The restaurant is immaculately clean floors, tables, restrooms, dining areas everything is spotless and clearly well maintained.

We ordered the Chicken Satay and the Beijing Chicken, and both were outstanding. Bold, balanced flavors, high-quality ingredients, and execution exactly where it should be. This is elevated Chinese cuisine done right and done consistently.

Service across the board was excellent. Our server Amir was professional, attentive, and knowledgeable, pacing the meal perfectly without hovering. Even the bussers were on point, our table was never left cluttered or dirty for a second. Plates were cleared promptly, drinks stayed fresh, and the flow of the meal never missed a beat.

That level of teamwork and cleanliness is what separates good restaurants from great ones. Between the atmosphere, the food, the service, and the consistency, this place delivers on every level. An easy recommendation and absolutely a spot I’ll continue coming back to.

Came to this location after the closing of the one in midtown. I was skeptical, but they did not disappoint. I would have gave 5 stars for all, but I did not particularly care for the layout. For some reason the openness felt as if the people next to me were in my conversation. And I was able to hear there’s as well. The food was delicious. We ordered the chicken for 2 people and it could have fed 6. It was delicious. I think that will be my go to from now on. I also loved the string beans. I enjoy well made and seasoned vegetables.

We went around 6pm, had reservations but it seemed fairly empty. But not for long. Make a reservation to be on the safe side. Enjoy!

My guests and I had the Moët & Satay 4-Course Luxe Dining Experience at Philippe on 11/30 at 7:15 PM for my birthday dinner, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. If you’re lucky enough to be served by the gentleman who handled my champagne all night, you’re in for one of the best evenings of your life — his attentiveness and presence elevated everything.

The service was impeccable — truly some of the best I’ve ever received. Our waiter and the entire wait staff paid close attention to every detail and moved with such grace that we felt like the only table in the restaurant. My champagne glass never emptied, and my guests never had to ask for anything — every need was noticed and handled immediately and with care.

First Course:
The Chicken Satay (10/10) was tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. The Duck Spring Rolls introduced a new taste for us — wonderful, rich, and memorable. Even the Steamed Edamame was fresh and well-seasoned.

Second Course:
The Chicken Lettuce Wraps were a standout favorite — fresh, savory, and perfectly balanced. The Vegetable Lo-Mein was comforting and flavorful. The Steamed Dumpling Sampler (shrimp, chicken, and vegetable) was beautifully executed and delicious across the board.

Entrées:
Each entrée was well-prepared, flavorful, and consistent. Every guest enjoyed their dish.

Dessert:
Dessert was its own special moment. Without me mentioning anything, a flashing candle was placed on my plate — a thoughtful touch that made the evening feel personal and celebratory. The Red Velvet Cake was incredibly moist and beautifully executed, and the Moët Macaroons were delicate and luxurious.

The ambiance tied everything together. The music was the perfect soundtrack for the evening — modern, calming, and exactly what we needed. The décor is stunning, and with the right lighting, there are great photo moments. As a gentle suggestion, a small photo-op area near the entrance with strong lighting would make an already exceptional experience even better.

My guests left happy, impressed, and fully satisfied. We felt at home, celebrated, and genuinely cared for — and that made this birthday dinner unforgettable.

Thank you to the entire Philippe team and management for creating such a beautiful night. We will absolutely be returning for another special occasion.

I’m absolutely obsessed with Philippe Chow Downtown! Having visited both locations, I can confidently say that the service is top notch and the food is divine. Their lychee martini is a must try it’s my go to order every time. The restaurant’s ambiance is also worth mentioning, as it’s elegant and sophisticated.

First time here ( came on a Monday ) my BF birthday. Crowd didn’t start really rolling in to like 8:15 we were there like 7-7:30p . Not too big inside . Alix was our waiter he was VERY nice and must was bored. I felt rushed to place my order cause he kept coming every 5 mins it seemed like. I get it cause it was empty . Lobster rice over priced for it to be tasteless . Ribs can have more sauce on them but they were a 8/10 . The garlic broccoli I wasn’t a fan of. I’ve been to SEI LESS & PANDA this spot was NOTHING compared to them in my opinion. I had two drinks first drink was amazing the second one so much ice I had 2 sips and the drink was done. They don’t sing happy birthday, they do bring the sparkle candle with whatever dessert you order. Hot rag to wipe hands when your done eating was a first time I ever had a restaurant do that’ Overall rating 6/10 .

Lobster with sesame sauce is a big win. Elegant restaurant with great waiters. Is fancy so expect a big bill but is worth it. Fun music and a great atmosphere. Was my birthday and was not disappointed with the baked Alaska with blue cotton candy. Great treat.

Philippe Downtown NYC is an absolute standout. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegant and inviting. The service is consistently attentive without ever feeling overbearing, and the staff truly knows the menu inside and out.
The food is the real star every dish is beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The signature chicken satay is a must-try. Cocktails are expertly crafted, and the wine list pairs perfectly with the menu.
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just treating yourself to a great night out, Philippe Downtown delivers a top-tier dining experience every time. Highly recommend!

Only negative was the food came out a little slowly, and the music and other guests were a little loud.

But the good definitely outweighed the bad. The food was amazing, the peanut sauce on the chicken satay was the tastiest appetizer ever. We also got the chicken lettuce wrap, which was great and fun to assemble, and the best part was the sauce, so flavorful.

The Beijing chicken was definitely not traditional, more like American Chinese inspired and made fine dining. The candies walnuts and fresh chicken was so delicious.

The deserts were also absolutely delicious, both the red velvet cheesecake which was decadent, and the chocolate cake which was much lighter but also absolutely delicious.
