Reviews
We ordered the Chicken Satay and the Beijing Chicken, and both were outstanding. Bold, balanced flavors, high-quality ingredients, and execution exactly where it should be. This is elevated Chinese cuisine done right and done consistently.
Service across the board was excellent. Our server Amir was professional, attentive, and knowledgeable, pacing the meal perfectly without hovering. Even the bussers were on point, our table was never left cluttered or dirty for a second. Plates were cleared promptly, drinks stayed fresh, and the flow of the meal never missed a beat.
That level of teamwork and cleanliness is what separates good restaurants from great ones. Between the atmosphere, the food, the service, and the consistency, this place delivers on every level. An easy recommendation and absolutely a spot I’ll continue coming back to.
We went around 6pm, had reservations but it seemed fairly empty. But not for long. Make a reservation to be on the safe side. Enjoy!
The service was impeccable — truly some of the best I’ve ever received. Our waiter and the entire wait staff paid close attention to every detail and moved with such grace that we felt like the only table in the restaurant. My champagne glass never emptied, and my guests never had to ask for anything — every need was noticed and handled immediately and with care.
First Course:
The Chicken Satay (10/10) was tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. The Duck Spring Rolls introduced a new taste for us — wonderful, rich, and memorable. Even the Steamed Edamame was fresh and well-seasoned.
Second Course:
The Chicken Lettuce Wraps were a standout favorite — fresh, savory, and perfectly balanced. The Vegetable Lo-Mein was comforting and flavorful. The Steamed Dumpling Sampler (shrimp, chicken, and vegetable) was beautifully executed and delicious across the board.
Entrées:
Each entrée was well-prepared, flavorful, and consistent. Every guest enjoyed their dish.
Dessert:
Dessert was its own special moment. Without me mentioning anything, a flashing candle was placed on my plate — a thoughtful touch that made the evening feel personal and celebratory. The Red Velvet Cake was incredibly moist and beautifully executed, and the Moët Macaroons were delicate and luxurious.
The ambiance tied everything together. The music was the perfect soundtrack for the evening — modern, calming, and exactly what we needed. The décor is stunning, and with the right lighting, there are great photo moments. As a gentle suggestion, a small photo-op area near the entrance with strong lighting would make an already exceptional experience even better.
My guests left happy, impressed, and fully satisfied. We felt at home, celebrated, and genuinely cared for — and that made this birthday dinner unforgettable.
Thank you to the entire Philippe team and management for creating such a beautiful night. We will absolutely be returning for another special occasion.
The food is the real star every dish is beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The signature chicken satay is a must-try. Cocktails are expertly crafted, and the wine list pairs perfectly with the menu.
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just treating yourself to a great night out, Philippe Downtown delivers a top-tier dining experience every time. Highly recommend!
But the good definitely outweighed the bad. The food was amazing, the peanut sauce on the chicken satay was the tastiest appetizer ever. We also got the chicken lettuce wrap, which was great and fun to assemble, and the best part was the sauce, so flavorful.
The Beijing chicken was definitely not traditional, more like American Chinese inspired and made fine dining. The candies walnuts and fresh chicken was so delicious.
The deserts were also absolutely delicious, both the red velvet cheesecake which was decadent, and the chocolate cake which was much lighter but also absolutely delicious.
