We used Black Bear to cater our wedding for appetizers, dinner, and dessert for about 70 people and couldn’t recommend more!! From the first communication figuring out the menus and amounts it was such an easy process. AJ helped with recommendations based on travel and what would serve well which I so appreciated the guidance. On the day of it was absolutely delicious. We served dinner buffet style and the food was hot being served for all the guests. Also for my (bride) and my now husband’s plate they made our plate with generous servings and brought them to our table first – so incredibly kind and thoughtful. AJ also helped me work through several food allergies from our guests. Truly enjoyed working with them from start to finish – such a kind team of people with a true talent for delicious food!! Absolutely recommend any day!!

We stopped by Black Bear BBQ for lunch on a Saturday. When we arrived, there was a line out the door but it moved fairly quickly. The staff were friendly but a little frazzled. We ordered the Hillbilly Nachos and Slider Trio. Both were tasty. We enjoyed sitting outside as the weather was nice.

I can’t say enough good things about AJ and blackbear bbq! He catered my wedding and came out and spent the entire day cooking the pig. The food was incredible and the experience of having them cook the pig all day on site was so much fun! We got SO many compliments on the food and my husband and I loved it! AJ was so kind and thoughtful throughout the whole planning process and on the day of. Couldn’t ask for a better wedding caterer, thank you!

This has to be my favorite BBQ restaurant I’ve ever been to. Chef AJ knows what he’s doing. Every side and piece of meat is amazing! They saved our thanksgiving with this insane smoked turkey! Get there on Friday to try there burnt end sandwich special that changes every week.

The woman at the front register was super helpful and patient with us ordering.
My brother does BBQ and rated his food highly. I got the dinner sampler with Mac and cheese and potato salad with corn bread. Everything was super delicious. The White Alabama sauce is very good.
They have ample space inside the restaurant and some sitting outside.

Good food and good staff! The pork ribs are amazing . I’m giving it 4/5 stars because the cornbread is a little bland, and and the vinegar slaw is good BUT it was served in a pool of the vinegar sauce and it was too strong/concentrated, but the flavor was really good. If the slaw was just tossed in the sauce and drained before playing it would have been perfect. The collard greens are perfect, great flavor and texture! The baked beans had great flavor and texture. Really enjoy this place!

We stopped in after a drive up and down the parkway, to fuel up before heading home. How do people not know about this place? The people at the counter and in the kitchen were all so kind and fun, and loved the costumes for Halloween. Their suggestions were top notch, the food was DELICIOUS, and loved the decor. I REALLY wanted the moose painting.
The meat was perfectly cooked, with ribs that had that good crunch outside and delicious inside. The mustard sauce was perfect with the chicken and pulled pork. Mac n cheese and broccoli casserole are both clearly home made (in the best way) and we’re tasty! My fave was a tie between the green beans and the cucumber salad. Somehow the Family 4 meal was more food than we could eat and we wound up bringing some home with us.
I wish I had more pics, but trust me, the food is worth the trip and experience. We’ll be back!

Delicious! stopped in here for lunch. Had the BBQ sampler platter. Very filling, and each item was delicious. The BBQ meats were each savory in their own regard. The collard greens and mac & cheese were both spectacular. Comfortable/ Casual & clean decor. covered outdoor seating also.

Off of my experience I went there with my family, we went in and got gravy fries and a few burgers but if I’m being honest gravy fries were the best part. Burgers were average at best and we were still hungry so we got some buffalo wings and they were raw. Service was great tho but I wouldn’t come back
