Visit here two times a month with my cousins. So, we love it here. Haven’t had a bad meal yet. Not wild about the fried chicken but everything else is fabulous.

Oxtail plate is the same price ($20+) as the Jamaican restaurants with half the servings. I have 2.5 oxtails on this plate and they’re not tender. I wouldn’t buy again. However, I’ve had their fried catfish in the past and when I say it’s good. It’s GOOD coming from a picky eater. THATS their specialty in my opinion. The sides are definitely decent for Denver and they’re a decent size, you’ll be full for sure. Cornbread is decent and they give a big cut. I will be coming back for sure just not for oxtails.

Some of the best gizzards and catfish I’ve found in Colorado since moving here 10 years ago. I’m excited to try the gumbo next!

So going to start this off with saying how delicious the food here is. Probably the best catfish I’ve had in like ever !. The sides were also amazing. I tried the red beans and rice and the collard greens. Everything was delicious. So here’s the only thing I’d say if you plan on visiting this place. Make yourself extra, extra, extra time. We walked in at 2:30 and did not get our meals till about 5:15pm. We were fairly warned about the crazy wait time well in advance and we chose to stick it out. We had no other plans and were not incredibly hungry at the time so we didn’t mind waiting, if you’re on a time crunch or just dont want to wait almost 3hrs to eat then skip this spot. I feel like they prioritize their to go orders vs their dine in patrons. Either way, Delicious and in my opinion it was worth the wait.

The hostess had a funky attitude but our waitress and the owner was extremely nice and helpful.
The place has a nice vibe with music playing softly.
Our food was freaking delicious. The amount of food you receive is massive so be prepared to take some home❤️

Home style cooking. I had a country cooking restaurant in Decatur Texas so I know Great food.. This place almost makes me wanna tear up. Reminds me of home and growing up.
Everything I mean everything that I have had here is fantastic. This is a owner’s hand on operation. The best gizzards I have ever had in my life. So tender you will not believe it. Greens and cabbage, you would slap your momma for If you’re were stupid. One half fried chicken that will leave you thinking You’re in heaven with 2 sides $20.00.. Yes You can share..Of course i had red beans and rice and collard greens with cabbage and bacon and shared some fried okra and Gizzards..
Our Friend Ben turned us on to this place. Oh did I mention the Mango Shrimp…OH MY..
HAVE ONE FOR AN APPETIZER AND GET ONE TO GO. Worth the drive.. I forgot to take pictures. It was so good. Next time.

We ordered the oxtail and half chicken meal. First off, the chicken was phenomenal — perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. What fell short for me were the sides: the greens tasted like they came straight out of a can, and while the macaroni and cheese was decent, it lacked that soulful, homemade touch. The oxtail was tender and well-cooked, but I expected a bit more depth of flavor. Overall, the food was pretty good.

The service, however, was very underwhelming. I was sitting at the bar (which was empty, mind you) waiting for my boyfriend to come out of the bathroom, when the owner — I believe — told me I couldn’t sit there and had to go back to the front, even though I had just spent $50 at the restaurant. It came across as extremely petty.

Being from Memphis, TN, I was genuinely excited to find this spot and was hoping for that warm, Southern hospitality that feels like home. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel appreciated as a customer. While the food was good (though not the best I’ve had), I won’t be returning. It’s a shame, because the music and was great — but I can’t support a place that doesn’t seem to value its core customer base.

Absolutely delicious. I knew the food would be good when I walked in. My parents are in town, and we are southern. I had to find a place where they would enjoy the food and this was a jackpot. A+++

I ordered delivery. This is BY FAR the best soul food I’ve had in Denver, and I’ve been here 16 years. I ordered the catfish dinner with greens and yams. The greens were perfection! The yams were ready for pie making, yes I literally put them over ice cream with a graham cracker. FIRE! Can’t wait to visit in person. Definitely going into rotation.
