But what really makes this place special is the staff. They are hands down the friendliest, most welcoming group of people. Huge shoutout to Tasha, Mandy, Hoss, Josh, and Fred. You all are my favorite people and the reason I keep coming back. The vibe is always chill, laid back, and genuinely welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, laugh, and feel taken care of.
If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out. This spot is a gem.
Let me begin by saying this review is not written lightly. It is written after a series of events that I believe warrant transparency and accountability.
In November 2024, I brought my truck to Flynn’s for an alignment. Before the work began, I asked Paul, the Service Manager, whether they were equipped to handle alignments on large diesel trucks, as some shops decline them due to their complexity. My question was practical and respectful. Paul responded dismissively, telling me that if I doubted their ability, I should take my truck elsewhere. I clarified that I was not questioning their competence, only confirming capability. Nevertheless, the interaction felt unnecessarily hostile.
After the alignment was completed, the vehicle still did not feel correct. Instead of returning immediately, I sought a second opinion at West Side Tire. There, I was informed that one of my ball joints was worn. As many mechanics know, an alignment cannot properly be performed with a bad ball joint. Based on that information, I returned to Flynn’s and requested a refund for the alignment service. The interaction again became contentious.
After leaving a public review, I was contacted and asked to return for a refund. When I did, a Corporate Manager was present, and the situation was handled professionally. My review was removed by the company, and I decided not to repost my experience believing the matter had been resolved.
My wife and I had frequented Shaker’s for years without issue. However, during multiple visits during the fall/winter of 2025, a bartender named Tasha began treating me in a manner I found unprofessional and hostile. On one occasion, she refused service, stating I “didn’t know what I wanted,” despite not allowing me the opportunity to speak. Another patron had to request that she return and take the order.
On a separate visit, I was accused of not paying my bill. When proof could not be produced, the accusation was dropped. Nonetheless, the situation was embarrassing and damaging to my character.
After some time away, I returned last Thursday. I ordered food for myself and my wife to go and had a few drinks while waiting. I had a great conversation with fellow patrons about current social issues, paid for my food, tipped for my drinks, and left without incident. Shortly afterward, my business received a one-star Google review written by Tasha, containing statements that are false and defamatory.
Upon further review of the situation, I discovered that Tasha is the significant other of Paul, the Service Manager at Flynn’s On Belmont Ave in YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO. Given the prior conflict regarding the alignment issue, this connection raises serious concerns about retaliation. That is a long time to hold a grudge against a person. It is outright scary how damaging hate can be!
I believe in fairness, accountability, and professionalism. I also believe managers and employees should not use personal grievances to target someone’s livelihood. Disagreements happen. Mistakes happen. But retaliation and defamatory public attacks cross a line.
I am sharing this not out of anger, but out of a commitment to transparency and truth. Businesses and individuals alike deserve to be treated with professionalism and respect. I am grateful that Google exists! Otherwise, how else would I be able to indemnify my perpetrator?
We had an issue the first time coming here, and they handled it very professionally. Came back and the food was just as good, they remembered us…great service.
